This is a very solid 2" thick box beam style mantel. They are available with an 8" or 10" deep shelf in 4,5,6,7ft lenths. A 2x4 mounting cleat is included making it very easy to mount to any surface.

Go pick out a piece or you might not be satisfied. It was just not nice and I wanted rough and rustic. The shape was not what I expected even though the length was fine. I am going to search and fall in love with a piece before I make it the centerpiece of the room. Maybe you will get lucky but I don't want to risk it again.

The first mantel we received was not like the picture- it did not have the saw blade marks and rough cuts. The company immediately replaced it. The color was a little light, but I stained it darker and it's perfect!

Really looks it for what we wanted. It came stained in more of a cherry color than natural reclaimed wood; we got lucky, as not the color expected, but fit with the overall look of the room fine. The dowels to insert after mounting did not match (unfinished) and the ones they filled did not match the finish. Fortunately I had stain that matched and “cleaned it up” on my own. Looks fantastic now, but a bit disappointed for $275. Install was easy if you’re handy. If your not, there were no instructions. Obvious to me, but may not be intuitive to the non-handy person. You’ll need a level, tape measure, pencil to mark drill holes, drill and screwdriver and more screws than they provide. I would have given it 5 stars if the color was consistent with the description and photos, instructions were included and the dowels match. I read the reviews, so not surprised. I wish the owners would read the reviews and understand their customers want what they see. Conceptually great look and product, just inconsistent and not finished well.

This looks very cheap. Very disappointed. Said it would include a specific size wood for installing. They didn’t. They sent two smaller pieces that do not hold the mantle up. I’d return it if I could. Both pieces are stained different colors. The mini dowels they sent to fill the nail holes don’t fit. Don’t bother buying. Buyer beware

These people are fantastic to order from. I ordered the first time and gave the wrong size. No problem for them. Issued a refund and built a new one to the correct measurements. It arrived safe and sound and we are really pleased. Gives the rustic feel, of which we were looking for. Love the old saw marks and nail marks. So pleased and glad we ordered from them. Beautiful addition to our fireplace.

The mantel was beautiful and exactly what we were looking for -- solid, rustic, and unique. Unfortunately, it came with a mantel top of 60" and the box with an outside measurement of 58 inches. We needed the inside of the box to measure 60 inches. We contacted the seller about what we could do to return the one we have and replace it. The response was beyond our expectations. The seller responded within an hour with a plan to send a mantel with the required dimensions shipped to us and all we had to do was ship the first mantel back at our expense. This was a small price to pay to get what we wanted and needed. The work that they do is great but as people they are even better. I am a completely satisfied customer and cannot recommend them highly enough.

The mantel was mounted by my contractor yesterday. It looks rustic just like I'd hoped, and awesome against the white shiplap wall. We were somewhat puzzled on the installation instructions (or lack thereof). Was said to include a 2x4 for easy installation, but there were actually 2 of the 2x4's and at a loss as to understand the purpose. That said, contractor installed his way in a short time!! Looks great! The only thing I am not in love with is the difference in color between the wood of the plank top (lighter, noticeably) and the color of the wood below (much darker). I may try some darker stain on top. I do love this piece, though, and for a reasonable cost I have a mantel that is exactly what i wanted.
