Came broken. Too bad. Can't comment on how it runs when in good condition. Must be a good pump. I returned it, and seller refunded without questions.For those never having a vacuum pump before:If it is loud and you can discern clanking noises, check the oil level. If it doesn't get netter, it is bad. Maybe somebody run it without oil before you?Good working pump is not nearly as loud, and runs smooth, there is no clanking noise.

I needed a pump for vehicle AC work(weekend warrior mechanic) and decided to try a mid range inexpensive pump.Out of the box I was surprised it had two bottles of oil, Upside down in the box. Why they would package two bottles of oil upside down on purpose is beyond me. The bottles were not leaking but I can see how they could cause a mess if they were. I bought my own high quality oil for pretty cheap and will keep the included oil around just in case.Filled the pump with pil(red fill plug) and didna test run. The pump runs really quiet in my opinion. If its in your garage you should have no problem and the odd hum just lets you know it's working.Ran it for about 30 minutes on a vehicle and my gauges were pretty well pegged at 0. I let it run another 15 minutes just to be sure. The pump did get warm but nothing unexpected. There were some clouds of vapor mistong from the vent at the start but went away after the first 15 minutes or so.I drained the oil and am a little worried about the drain plug being easy to strip. Other than the drain plug the pump seems well made, the line fittings are nice and solid, has a long enough power cable, easy to get to drain and fill plugs, nice carry handle and its quiet while pulling a strong fast vacuum. Was everything I was hoping for.

I'm not only impressed with this vacuum pump...I'm also impress with the company. When I received this pump, I was very excited to put it to use (my first time with a do-it-myself ac service). I plugged it in and the pump began working but I noticed that the cooling fan wasn't spinning.. and I could feel that the pump motor was beginning to get hot. I immediately turned it off. I was so bummed out. I decided to call the manufacturer FJC to see if they could let me know what the problem could be. I called and was immediately connected with a very nice tech person. I described what had happened when I tried using the pump for the first time. He told me that on rare occasions during shipping that one of the push on wires could possible become disconnected. He instructed me on how to check the connection, which I did. It wasn't difficult to check. Sure enough, the connections was not tight, so I simply plugged it in properly. This fixed the problem! I used the pump and it worked beautifully. So, I not only recommend this product because of the fact it worked well.... I highly recommend it because of the company who stands behind it...

Used this to vacuum out the system on my 03 Impreza. Did a great job! While vacuuming the system was as low as 30-31 HG, and after remained and stabilized around 28-29 HG. Money well spent, because taking my car to an auto shop to vacuum and recharge my system would have cost more than this pump! Just an FYI for any DIY-ers, this vacuum is meant for an AC system that is completely VOID of all R134a. My Impreza's condenser had a leak in it and all the R134a was out of the AC system entirely. If you're not sure about AC systems, there are tons of forums out there explaining how to use a vacuum pump, find leaks, etc. in your system. Don't feel overwhelmed, I did it myself using forums and youtube videos (though I would consider myself a solid weekend warrior mechanic).

Works amazinnggg! OK yeah there is a little mess when it comes packaged, with oil but it takes 2 seconds to clean up so not a big deal at all since it does not affect functionality of the product. Like others have stated just have to add one bottle of oil it comes with and turn it on for a little and off again and than add more, after you turn it on the first time the oil fill glass will coincide with how much you are currently putting in from that point forward. Works fast and is very quiet compared to many other models. Pulls -29.5 vac in just about a minute and holds strong too. Don't waste your money on a two stage pump if you don't need to this 5 cfm pump and it's technology are more than strong enough to suffice. Definitely recommend this pump, especially for the noise conscious ones.(it's not pin-drop quiet but it isn't blazing screaming loud like the others, trying to explain it as realistically as possible.

PRO: Vacuum pump works great. first time it pulled my HVAC Air Condition down to 30inHg for 10min no problem and it doesn't make loud noise like other vacuum pump.Con: I received the shipping package. When I opened the package, the package had oil spilled all over the vacuum pump. I had to clean it up.Over all I recommend this vacuum. It works wonderful."

I have used this pump only a couple of times since I purchased it in May/June of this year. It has performed flawlessly, and I feel the extra CFM's help with the efficiency to extract air for a better vacuum. I like that the pump comes with 2 bottles of oil to use initially. Even though the pump is supposedly void of oil when shipped, there was a measurable amount of oil in the packing material when I opened the box.
