These pencils feature highly pigmented leads that blend easily and do no flake on paper. Faber-Castell's color pencils are made from reforested wood and are designed to last! Unlike many other colored pencils, the leads are glued the entire length of the pencil barrel, making them easier to sharpen (leads will not fall out) and are break resistant. These pencils are non-toxic, acid free and conform to ASTM D-4236. Great for ages 5+.

I never liked using colored pencils because they would make my hand cramp really bad. But the shape of these pencils really helps! Now I can actually use the coloring books I bought

Great pencils, very economical! The colors are brilliant and the pencils are smoother and do not break down as easily. These are student, children's pencils, but I am very happy to use them and I won't hesitate to buy them again. I color every week and they have become my go to!

Triangular pencil grip support, rubber knobs prevent sliding grip, never any broken cores, beautiful colors and color transfer onto paper.I recommend sharpening these colored pencils with the Faber Castell pencil sharpener.Specifically with the colored pencil option. It sharpens them at an angle that makes it so the cores are even more stable.Perfect for when my kids go to town with the coloring and don't treat their pencils gently.I can't recommend these enough.

I love that these pencils are responsibly made;no one cut down poached Monarch Butterfly woods to make us these pencils! They're also the nicest ones I ever used;the triangular grip helps children & adults with gripping issues use them. The quality of the pencils is incredibly lovely;I found that layering effects are possible because of a beautiful translucency of these pencil'so leads;they probably contain beeswax. I made iridescent bird feathers quite easily with Faber-Castell Ecopencils in our Audubon Birds of North America coloring book!I have nerve damage from chemotherapy in my hands-so if I can hold them, anyone can!

I was looking for a wide range of colored pencils I could use for some adult coloring books and some other art projects I had in mind and these ones in particular caught my eye because it looked as if there were plenty of bright and dark colors available. I will say that these are great quality pencils for the price. The colors come out very smooth and pigmented, especially the darker colors, and you don't have to press down too hard to get that deep color. Even if I did press down pretty hard the pencil wouldn't budge or break! The pencils are in a triangular shape so I would recommend that if you get these, you should also buy the Faber Castell Trio pencil sharpener to be safe. I'm not sure if any other sharpener for triangular-shaped pencils will work so I went ahead and ordered their brand of sharpener. They don't roll away because of their shape either.I am giving it 4 out of 5 stars only because I had to find and order a particular pencil sharpener for these pencils. I HIGHLY suggest you order the both of them together, because I did not and you will definitely need it!

I will always buy Faber Castell pencils over Crayola. They are so much more substantial, for a child in particular. Kids get so annoyed about breaking tips, and it discourages them from sitting down to draw. Not the case with these. Find a nice clear pencil box for them, place the sharpener inside, and you are all set with a perfect set of colored pencils. And they will last a long time. Great gift too!

These pencils may be a little bit more expensive than crayola, or some other bargain brand, but they are worth the slightly higher price tag. I have arthritis in my hands, so anything that makes it easier for me to hold onto is a plus. I also like that they won't roll off the table. As far as color goes, these pens are almost on par with Prismacolor Scholar, which I also own, and use frequently. My 6 year old nephew also enjoys using them, and since they aren't ridiculously expensive I don't mind if he uses them. And he thinks that the triangular shape is "cool". The only problem, and it's really not much of a problem, is they are a little hard to sharpen, due to their shape. I use an electric sharpener, and even that has a little bit of a hard time sharpening these. But once you get past the initial sharpen, it's smooth sailing. So, basically, great pencils for a reasonable price. I'm glad that I found these, and will definitely buy more when needed.
