I needed this exact part to repair my leaky toilet, but couldn't find it in the big box stores. And, the "universal" repair parts did not work for this application. The part took only a minute to install and it worked right away.

This is a perfect replacement part, matches and replaced exactly what was broken in my toilet. 5 minute installation no instructions required. Extremely happy.

For my odd toilet, I looked all over replacement guts. No one sells it locally, certainly not at the hardware store. I was very grateful to find it on Amazon, and very affordable. It fit perfectly and has worked every since.

These are perfect for the design of the Eljer toilets! We have tried those after-market "universal fit" flapper systems... but they never worked right no matter what. We have enough toilets in the house that we would clean them out, let them dry for a few days, etc before placing the new flapper on... then we would let the putty sit and really set up before filling the tank back up. Never mattered what we did. Seemed like within a year, or even 6 months, the toilet had developed a slow leak again. Aargh! Not with these! We have two of these older Eljer toilets in the house. I did the one in the basement while reseating the tank at the same time. The 40+ year old bolt had broken and it was leaking. When getting the right part (below) I decided to try this funny looking stopper... and that was 3 years ago... and NO LEAKS with this design. So now I have also done the full repair job on the upstairs toilet and am looking forward to no more slow leaking there either.Installation is only a tiny bit tricky. May I suggest you also get the Danco 88359 Tank to Bowl Repair Kit at the same time as, if your bracket to hold the flapper is broken or missing, you will need to remove the tank to undo the right hand bolt. This is not hard (unless your bolts are in the condition ours were) and it's nice to get a new gasket between the bowl and tank anyway. There are bolts between the tank and the bowl to hold the bolt head and gasket snug to the tank, so you can't get the bold out to replace this part simply by removing the nut in the back of the bowl. Also, make sure you get off any and all residual plumber's putty from the bottom of the tank (if you used one of those "universal" kits) as this flapper ball will stick to that and be more difficult to flush. So get both parts at the same time... do it all fresh and you will be happy for years! Thank you Amazon for carrying actual replacement parts!

Be sure to check and see what hole that you tank has for your handle. The handle parts for mine fit ONLY inside of a square hole, the square hole was made in the ceramic, the new piece 'should' fit inside, but only if you have a ROUND hole, I DID NOT.So, I had to rig it to where it'd work temporarily. In case it didn't make sense, I (wrongly) bought the square hole handle parts instead of the round hole parts. This is a pretty rinky-dink little handle set-up, but it does work, I mean, I guess it works, I couldn't figure out how to make the handle stay flushed without holding onto to it until all of the water was emptied.Just be sure. The parts were made really cheaply, the flush arm is VERY light plastic, I can see a problem with that, but, times are what they are.
