Find a clear spot on shore or in shallow water, then use the sliding hammer handle to set it in place for an all-day hold. The beach spike features two hooks, the lower of which provides a place for your anchor line, while the higher allows a buoy hookup to mark the spike's location in the water. I like these beach stakes/anchors, I actually have four of them. Two of the largest ones and two of the smaller ones. I use them with slide hooks to dock my boat on an island where I camp. They work very well allowing me to not have to find a tree up on shore to tie a long rope to but I have one complaint. The foam padding on the handle slips down and get squished at one end and becomes pretty much useless after a few uses. When you hammer it in or hammer it out of the sand the foam padding does not stay in place and gets damaged. I'm going to try to think of some other type of foam padding I can tape or secure to the handle that stays in place. But they are cheaper than the competition so if that doesn't bother you I recommend them and who knows maybe the competitions foam padding does the same thing.

Bought this to use with my 18 foot pontoon boat. Finally got a chance to try it out a week or two ago and absolutely love it! We were camped in a state park with the back of our spot sitting on the nice gravely beach on the reservoir. I put the stake into the ground and used it to secure the boat anytime we weren't out using it. We had some VERY strong thunderstorms come through a couple of the afternoons and the boat never moved! Wish I'd have found this years ago!! Thanks!

We had our 20’ pontoon beached at campsite with this slide anchor. 2 storms hit this week here in OK, both packing 70-80mph sustained winds. The slide anchor moved about 2 inches in the sand, and held solid. Our aft fluke anchor broke free each storm. We are going to buy a 2nd slide anchor, one for each side of the boat and tie to rear cleats from an angle. After seeing how one held, confident this setup with two will weather any storm!!

This is a real sturdy hunk of a piece. Simple to use even for a light weight. Just put in at a 45 degree and slam it. Pretty much it is going to go into the land easily unless it's a bunch of rocks. I like that it can be used under water with tying off a fender for safety I also like it cleans/rinse off easily and stores in its own bag which is pretty heavy duty which is nice. Quality product IMHO. Highly recommend it.

We use this anchoring onshore and in the sand bar. Easy to use and we love the self hammering style. Great slim design makes it easy to store out of the way in the ski locker. Way better hold and usability than the sandshark version which we returned.

This is a big anchor. Heavy duty. I like the hammer feature. The welds are terrible. It will be underwater so who cares unless there’s poor bonding and incomplete melting between the weld material and the base steel. Only time will tell if water starts corrosion or not—if so, then Ill update the review.

I have a 25 foot cabin cruiser where I beach on an island and sleep over all weekend. I love these. No more rebar or twisting in the sand and getting all sandy before getting back on the boat.I don't have to worry about these coming loose. Each one comes with its own bag. So far I have not had an issue with the bag tearing.Gave only 4 stars because the plastic or rubber on the handle on one of these did break after 3 uses so that could be a little thickerUpdate: After 2 1/2 years these are still holding strong, no issues. Have been through many storms with wind gusts up to 50mph. Rubber has come off both handles but they still hold strong
