Easy enough install for my 13 yo son. I ran the wires out of the bottom of the tailgate through a hole in the truck directly across from the tailgate hole and then ran it down the frame. Then up into the cab via the parking brake rubber plug then over to the radio. Camera works great! I powered it off of the backup/reverse power wiring. No complaints here!

I got this camera hoping it would last and be clear. The image was very clear for about a month then it started fading and eventually the camera wouldn’t even turn on anymore, I checked all wires and connections and they are fine so it’s the camera that went bad

Love the sleek look of this camera on my 2005 Dodge Ram 1500. I tapped into the red (12v+) and black (ground) wiring going to the trailer plug. I ran the wiring along the same path as the rest of the truck's wiring. Behind the front-left wheel well I was able to bunch up the excess wiring (~6-8ft) and poke the RCA end through the firewall with the rest of the wiring. I then added a 4ft RCA extension behind the dash so that the camera can easily be disconnected during dash removal. I did this while I had the dash out for blend door replacement which was convenient. I did not have to connect the red wire at the RCA end to anything with my radio because it already knows when I'm in reverse gear. You can turn the guidelines off by removing the black jumper on the green wires.All in all, I'm satisfied. Hopefully this handle is sturdy because I read a number of reviews on other cameras like this where the handle broke. I will update over time if this becomes an issue.

I had decided to install a rear cam in my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500, so I purchased a cheap "bullet" camera. It was just fine and I'd already run the wire that came with in when I discovered that I couldn't really find a good place the actually "install" it?! Personally, I only use a rear cam when hooking up to my trailer hitch, so I was looking for a spot in the center. My wife suggested I look for a replacement tailgate handle that I could install one into. Good idea! I couldn't find just the replacement handle without a camera, so I opted to purchase this one instead. I really didn't want to have to rerun the previous line (not that it's that difficult, but I just didn't want to have to), luckily, this one had the EXACT same connection at the previous. Works perfect and I now have an easier time connecting to the hitch.

Great quality! My truck is a 2002 so I really wanted the backup camera without buying a newer truck. This was the answer! Camera angle gives me a good view behind me. This was a great price that didn’t break the bank.

I’d installed a similar unit on my F150 and wanted to add the same functionality to my Dodge 2500 when I installed a new ATOTO radio. The camera handle installed easily just like the OEM handle. I spent a few extra bucks on this one because it had the wire sheathed for protection. I touted it through the firewall and up the dash to the head unit.When I fired it up I was really disappointed in the image quality. Then I realized I’d left the protective film on the lens. It’s much better now and totally adequate.
