This was supposed to fit my 2012 Passat. The holes didn’t line up to fasten and it isn’t even the same shape as the old one. My mechanic made it work by drilling holes that aligned. It lasted a year, cracked and was hanging down. Ended up buying the correct one from Volkswagen fit perfectly and made out of much better material.

Purchased this for my 2018 VW Passat. Dealer changed my oil, left out the 4 screws down each side of the splash shield (only put back my 3 screws in the back) and 5,000 miles later it is sailing down the interstate behind my car! This is not an OEM part that is stiff and thick and fits perfectly. It is relatively thick, but it is a different kind of plastic that is more flexible. Also, it is just a cut-out, so it isn't precise in its fitment. That said, it seems to have acceptable strength, and with four screws down each side and three in the back, I think it will be strong enough for the job it is supposed to do. It takes a little "tugging and pushing" to get the holes to line-up, but I got all the screws in tight, it fits fine and it isn't going anywhere! No idea how long it will last. I think this part is an honest 3-star part that will work, but for 1/3 the price of an OEM VW part (with shipping) and delivery to your door via FedEx three days after ordering (rather than a week from a dealer), it gets an extra start in my book. Tip: use larger washers behind your sheet screws on the sides. The holes in the shield are a little large, and the screws may pop back through the holes if the wind buffets a lot under there.

It fits; that’s what’s most important!!

I bought this knowing it would be a cheap knock off, but it might be different enough to be considered its own legally distinct product. More than half of the holes don't align and I had to bow it just to get 2 of the 3 main bolts and front clips in. I wrestled with the 3rd and finally just put it in at an angle... It has held in so far with the 3 bolts and two screws I managed to get to align, so I can't say it's totally worthless. Pay the extra for something better, the VW genuine part costs twice as much but you'll save yourself a lot of drilling, cursing, and MacGyvering to make this fit

Had it installed at a garage and watched them do it. Could have easily installed it myself.

I work in the oil fields and some times drive through hard rocky roads but this car is a gas saver especially driving 120 miles everyday. This cover originally flew off I guess from scraping to much on the roads when I late. But this replacement does the job and fits great. Will order again if I keep losing it lol .... but will start getting there on time

This is nothing close to the original. Very thin plastic. Poor molding and bolt holes do not line up. I returned mine due to the condition and quality.

Shield is very flimsy compared to the stock pan. It has a lot of holes for securing that don't match the car. I made it work but would not buy again. I would spend a few extra dollars and buy OEM or from the dealer. In the end it works but may not hold up over time.
