- COLOR & DIMENSIONS: 8-10 oz. (3.6-4mm) Thickness Weight. Genuine North American Buffalo Hide in pre-cut sizes from 6" to 48" and hides from 2.5 to 14 SQ FT sides.
- FULL GRAIN LEATHER BUFFALO: Buffalo hides are oil-tanned with an Aniline finish. The leather comes in beautiful rustic colors. The leather has not been altered beyond hair removal. It is the most genuine of leathers, retaining all of the hide’s original texture and markings. The hide’s best, strongest, and most durable layer.

Minor Blemish or Natural Marks
Our full-grain leather Buffalo Hide is made from first-class buffalo. Since the leather is made of the least damaged skin, you will hardly find any blemishes, holes, or defects on the leather's surface. It has a vintage, aesthetic look to it. Note that natural leather hides will have some minor blemishes, ticks, scars, and wrinkles but we try to minimize those issues.
No Cracks and Damaging
The tooling leather is thicker, more robust, and less prone to cracking and damage. The buffalo leather material is durable and lasts longer in comparison to the fabric. The leather has properties of repelling moisture, which also resists sun and heat damage, making it multi-functional.

I underestimated how thick this leather would be. I first wet formed the basic folds before free handing my own design. I didn't realize it was American bison hide, which makes it funny what I used it for. I purchased an antique Springfield Trapdoor rifle chambered in 45-70 Government. It is a single shot. I also am starting to take part in Six Gun Territory that has re-emerged after the original closed forty one years ago (if this published review is after January 1, 2025). Amazon started giving me these ads for cartridge holders similar to this style. I figured that if I were to imitate these cartridge holders that Amazon suggested, at least be liberal and put in 40 rounds as the Trapdoor was a U.S. military rifle. More rounds means more military might. I can use what I made (along with a clearance concho from Hobby Lobby) for 45-70 Government blanks as well as .410 3 inch shells. I didn't want the leather to be flimsy. I also didn't expect it to be this thick. However, the leather fit my desires for a DIY cartridge holder. I may wet form the sides more inwards, but time will tell.

I’m not sure why but the vintage tan (right) looks very close to the vintage cognac(left). I expected the vintage tan to be lighter like in the images

I bought this leather to make knife sheaths from and it’s amazing. Way different than the veg tanned leather I’ve worked with. Good and stiff but breaks in nicely. Highly recommend
