Ergon Gravel BT

BT Gravel Features and Specifications

With its 3.5 mm thickness and aggressive, block patterned surface texture, shock and vibrations are absorbed, delivering the perfect grip and bike control on the most technically demanding terrain.

This special bar tape for all gravel riders reduces pressure on the hands, feels good to the touch and provides a secure grip.

The BT Gravel can can be wrapped to individual preferences – thinner/thicker or increased/decreased grip texture – as wrap positioning guide marks are incorporated into the bar tape surface pattern.

Reduces discomfort when graveling

A low, stretched riding position with a highly angled saddle, relatively hard contact points with localized pressure on the sensitive nerves of the hand and wrist often leads to pain when riding gravel. Ergon handlebar tapes reduce hand discomfort and nerve irritation. The variable thickness and special material structure with AirCell Foam damps vibrations and effectively distributes pressure on the hands.

Ergon Gravel Tape

Comfortable on any surface

With this 3.5 mm thick bar tape gravel riders benefit from the best vibration damping, extra grip and outstanding bar feel, yet the extra comfort is clearly noticeable. Increased control on the handlebars reduces hand and arm fatigue so you’re less tired on longer, technically demanding terrain. This handlebar tape simply feels good, increases fun and performance on any riding surface.

Ergon Gravel Tape

Under control at all times

The BT Gravel is not only the perfect connection between the hand and bike to the riding surface, the aggressive, block patterned surface texture of the handlebar tape is also extra slip-resistant, so the bike remains in control at all times and in all riding situations.

Ergon Gravel Tape

Non-slip, lightweight, less hand pressure

Ergon handlebar tapes is made of three precisely developed material layers. The water-repellent non-slip surface (Anti-Slip Comfort Top), the lightweight foam (AirCell Foam) and the adhesive tape on the underside all resulting in a secure grip, lasting surface durability and excellent pressure distribution with light overall weight.

I primarily bought this handlebar tape because of his thickness. I wanted to pad my handlebars a little bit more for comfort. I do long road rides so this helps with vibration and hand fatigue. The texture and surface of this tape feels great, I like a lot. Easy to install, lays flat on the handlebars, looks great.

I’ve used a lot of different types of bar tape over years, and the Ergon BT tape is by far the best so far. Installation was a breeze, thanks to its supple, stretchable characteristics. The adhesive center strip helps stabilize each individual wrap, but unlike a lot of other drop bar handlebar tapes, it’s not obnoxiously sticky, so repositioning is super easy. It was plenty long enough for my 420mm bars and includes the best finishing strips I’ve ever seen, for a clean, professional look. The gravel version is 3.5mm thick for extra cushioning, and the texture is nice and grippy even when wet.

The most comfortable bar tape I’ve ever used, it also looks super premium. Install was easy, I did it myself

Really grippy tape that is super comfy even on gravel roads. BUT the description is incorrect. it is not 4mm thick. It's 3.5mm not a big deal but annoying that it's inaccurate. The tape itself is the tacky kind. So predictably grippy even in the rain or with bare hands. The tape is thick with an initial give that makes it very comfortable however hard you hang on, my hands are small but I don't have the hand stretch problem you get sometimes with thick bars. The colour is more of a very dark grey due to the matt nature of the material but looks great on my bike which is the same colour. I would recommend for the comfort and the clever wrap system. (read online), its just not 4.0mm thick. hence the loss of a star.

So much for this and their ortho pads waste of money both!

I was looking for new grip tape that would be grippy, and provide enough cushion for gravel rides. After a number of rides on mixed surfaces, I can say that I recommend this tape. It is the perfect thickness that is not too thin - this does not allow the rider to feel every bump, and it is not too thick - it does not roll in your hands when stressed.

I tried the Ergon BT gravel bar tape to see if it helped my hands and wrists as advertised and had it installed on my Argon Dark Matter gravel bike. Rode the SBT gravel as well as 3 other long distance gravel bike events and the pain I'd gotten from standard handlebar tape, did not happen. So I bought 3 other kits and had them wrapped on my touring bikes, and road bike. Excellent product. It is not easy to install however. I had my bike shop do it so it got done how I wanted it.

Soft, tacky, easy to wrap, pretty neat that you can dial in the feel with how it’s wrapped. Finishing tape is great.

Gutes Lenkerband, das sich aber durch die Dicke etwas schwerer wickeln lässt. Dafür eine gute Dämpfung. Preis/Leistungsverhältniss ist bei einem Preis von über 30 Euro fraglich.

The tape was great except it’s too short. You have to do minimal overlap and really pull it to make it fully cover.

Gut gedacht und „bequem“ beim graveln aber durch die Stärke schwierig zu wickeln und in den Lenker zu stopfen.
