Movement

How it works

  1. The pressure point is moved up to 20mm away from the ball of the foot.
  2. A much larger support area is provided, distributing the cleat pressure over a four times larger area.
  3. The reduced distance cleat<->heel shortens the lever for the calf muscles.
  4. Enables a lowered seat post and lower drag.

The cleat bolts are too long with look cleats even with the shortest 8mm bolts. Directions say to use a washer to decrease the length. I would not recommend doing this as it scratched my pedals because it exposed the bolt head too much. Unfortunately the only way to make these work is too grind down the bolts and that is not a great option.

I've been using these for years now when they were just this niche thing on the internet for people trying to find relief for burning feet when cycling. I have three pairs of shoes with these devices. I bought a fourth pair of shoes and decided to try them without them this time. What's almost the first pedal stroke my big wide feet started to burn and fall asleep and after an hour of riding I had to stop and take the shoes off.I got on Amazon and ordered another one of these setback devices, mounted it to the new shoes and we're back to cycling Bliss.I love that they also use the newer torx type screws. Are shallow Allen had screws have a tendency to strip out, so I reached out to the manufacturer and asked if I could buy two more sets of screws to retrofit two of my older kitted shoes? Without hesitation he responded I'll send them in the mail tomorrow FOR FREE!The owner of this company is hands down one of the most innovative engineers to bring solutions to people who have foot problems in cycling, and he happens to be a hell of a great human being too!I had some issues when the company first started up and reached out to him any responded in the same way both so many years ago before he was a known quantity..You will not go back after you try midfoot cycling!

I had issues with foot numbness on the right, no matter where I put the cleat it would not improve, and sometimes actually got worse. Tried different shoes with no relief, went to see a podiatrist she suggested using a metatarsal pad. It helped a lot but still had numbness on longer rides. I put these on with the metatarsal pad and no more numbness. Just finished a century with no problems. Apparently my issues was that the metatarsal bone are too close too each other and when I put pressure to pedal they squeeze the nerve. Moving the cleat back did the trick for me. Make sure to acclimate yourself to the new cleat position as it may require some adjustment with your seat.

Science as moved on such that many bike fitters are recommending you try a mid foot position on the pedal. This can be difficult without the use of adapters. I found these east to fit and having fitted them able to find a good foot position.Bit pricey, but they are well made and do the job.

I'm not impressed by how this company have little to no clue about screws and the cycling world. First off the screws for the metal plate is an hex bolt. There no hex bolt on any bike. So no one carries that tool in their bags if you need to tend to your shoes. Secondly they should provide shorter screws to screw down your cleats to the plate. They know already and tell you that you'll need to MacGyver a shorter screw. Why not give that in the kit? So you're basically buying a metal plate that you need to find screws for 60$. I don't know yet if the products work or not I'll have to try different position. But at first glance they should logically for that price give a little more hardware that is user friendly. Hex bolt is the worst bolt to tight and it always stripes! Idea of the product is very good tho.

I typically ride between 200 and 250 miles a week and regularly do 100+ rides. For the last few years my right foot has developed a hot spot around the 60 - 70 mile mark. Ive tried every type of insole pad - even cutting a hole in the pad under my foot ball to let ease the pressure. A google search led me to these. Tried them with the cleat moved back about 1/4 inch then another 1/4 inch. Incredible. NO PAIN. At least 500 miles with these on and I love them. Importantly, NO change in my power output across the board. Also interesting that I have the cleat on my right shoe only and no issues with symmetry. No knee, back or hand issues. We will all use these on Race Across America this year. Definitely worth a try.

The Patrocleat adapter is the best on the market! I’m 64 and mid foot cycling has eliminated my hot feet. I just completed a one day race of 207 miles and 8600 elevation gain with NO hot feet pain. Lake wide shoes help a ton also. I bought a new pair of cycling shoes and needed another pair.

Others have mentioned the screw issues - you will need to find screws that match your set up.Another blocker with some shoes is the angle of the cleat or the angle of the plate. The kit comes with one spacer, but may or may not be sufficient. When you mount the plate, and then mount the cleat but before tightening the cleat down, look at the side and see if you have a bunch of daylight. If you screw down the cleat flat, you will mess with the Look cleat engagement/disengagement (possibly being trapped clipped in!)This is going to vary by shoe and setback, you'll just have to play with it. Putting a spacer under the bracket solved it with my Lake CX238 shoes, while my Shimano shoes needed nothing.Since the only other real mid-foot option is custom $1200 shoes.. this is still the best deal going.

Had ride with a flat shoe for a year without any toes numbness, with cleats shoes, just like lot of others riders...Come across this product, decided to give it a try. First feeling was encouraging. May try 24mm back if need. Thanks allDo note, unlike pic shown, short of six shortest screw. Had to saw six one to tighten my cleats.

The product works really good but one of the wholes' threat is gone (see pics attached).I would really like if the manufacturer could provide a replacement.I also bought a similar plate/system for my mountain bike and I have not have the threads' issue. If manufacturer could help me out, I will provide the 5 stars!

These work great. Allowed me to position my cleats further back without introducing any problem with additional thickness. Simple to install and easy to adjust cleats like normal.
