I was skeptical as an almost 300lb man I wasn’t sure these would work. But they did and work great. For the price I won’t even look at other indoor mounting solutions anymore. But listen to the other commenters 5/16 drill bit is a little big. I used one slightly smaller (I used a 17/64 bit) and it grabbed great.

This summer I was living in my van an ENO hammock suspended in my van for sleep. I have a minivan and this eliminated parking angle issues I would encounter with a standard bed; Even if parked on an incline, my hammock would even out. What I did not expect, but discovered upon doing some research and then later my own experience, is that if hung properly a hammock will give you incredibly comfortable sleep with no pressure points. This ended up fixing some spinal problems I had struggled with for years after an injury, and I realized I wanted to sleep in a hammock once I was living indoors again. These rigging points are inexpensive and work incredibly well. Installation was a breeze, and I just used the framing on the side of a window and a closet door. I used straps to span the extra distance and create a sort of a ridgeline, and voila! I was hammocking indoors.I have since been able to go back to sleeping on my back on the floor for the first time in years, which is so healing for my body. I had been sleeping on my side which was painful, but my only option sleeping in a bed because back sleeping caused breathing problems due to misaligned vertebrae. I did end up sleeping on my side one night during a stressful trip to empty out a storage unit, and I was back in so much pain! A couple nights in the hammock and I was back to normal. I love having some rigging points in my room so that if I ever want to just hang, the option is there. Thank you ENO for such a wonderful product.

Thinking about being a cool VanLifer and want to put these on your back door joints? Send it. They work like a charm. The van I installed them on was a 2020 Ram ProMaster, super easy (though I recommend using an impact drill or socket wrench with 10mm attachment to get the bolt off).Note: because they are a single piece of metal, directional placement isn’t really a concern. Unless you are considering pulling something (just don’t) they should withstand up to their weight rating. I took the liberty of testing in Kj, hit 16 jumping off top of van into hammock, they did just fine (I am 200lb male).I hope this helps!P.S. Manufacturer provided bolts are known to potentially be brittle, if you aren’t mounting to a van, drill pilot hole before insertion/installation.Happy hanging!!!

The bracket is very nice, but the bolts supplied are chinese pot metal. DO NOT USE!!! Go buy some nice 3/8 x 3" lag bolts from homedepot, lowes, ace, anywhere really. I just about cracked my head on the concrete because this bolt sheered Clean in half. I'd suggest a different brand but they are all the same. Chinese pot metal. ENO is a good company plagued by the cost effective Chinese bug. It is what it is, so save yourself the headache and I'd you buy this anchor kit, buy some good hardware before hand to install with. Or you'll be hammock-less for a night like i was.

A quality kit, and strong enough to hang an elephant. The instructions were very clear, but the recommended drill bit size might be wrong. They recommend a 5/16" drill bit for their 3/8" lag screws. That's too large -- most applications go with 3/16" for soft wood, or 1/4" for hard wood.If you really did use 5/16" into a wood framing stud, you wouldn't have as much grip.. you want some bite, but make sure they seat all the way without crazy torque. The (steel) carabiners are solid, easily strong enough, but be aware they have a few sharp points possible so you might not want to pack them in with your thin hammock. They recommend not using Aluminum carabiners because the sharp edge of the steel wall mount will wear through them over time. It's all solid hardware, well into the overkill range for weight. If I'd change anything, it would be to make it less 'shiny', as it is all high polish. I put a little paint on it so it wouldn't stand out so much on the wall, but that's just my quirk.

This is exactly how I expected it. Packaging was clear. Instructions were clear. One thing they don't make clear up front, I don't think, was to make sure that you have a 5/16" or 8mm drill bit. I knew these lag bolts would be thick so I expected to drill a pilot hole. Also, these bolts will take lots of strength to drive all the way in. If you have a power drill or an impact driver to drive the bolt would make it much easier. Use a 9/16" or 13mm socket to drive them. I was done in 3 minutes. Zinc plated for a nice look. Carabiners were easy to throw on. I hung this in my garage for now, so I used my straps to fill the gap hanging the hammock. The brackets are a thick gauge steel and nicely formed to protect the wall and prevent digging if you hang this across a room or in a corner. I have no doubt, if installed properly, these will be able to hold more than any hammocks weight capacity.
