These speakers are great. They are a little heavier compared to the speakers they were voiced after, i.e. heavier magnets(38oz). And are fairly efficient (loud) with a rating of 101.6 db. The performance of guitar loudspeakers is often entirely subjective and should not be a surprise to anyone chasing tone. For what I use these for is to get the G12T75/G12T1K sound that Marshall produced in the 80s. Not the prettiest sounding speaker to mic up in some situations, but for live performance this speaker does what I need it to do and well for saturated tones. With that said they still clean up nicely for clean and edge of breakup tones. When my Celestion's kick the bucket in my 412 lead cab, these will be what I replace them with. Top all that off with them being American made!

Sounds good with a junk guitar. the small single speaker 65 watt Peavey amp ran out of power even with distortion. It was nice and loud.

Does what it's supposed to do and sounds good. I used it for a speaker cabinet I built, 1x12 .. keep in mind you need to play through it for at least several hours at a decent volume so that the speaker actually moves and gets some working, but don't overdo it, I was only putting 20 watts RMS to it but had the bass maxed out and just seeing what it could do clean, I played it for a while like that for about 10 minutes the next day did it again, by the third or fourth time I did it it sounded like it got a little louder and still remained punchy and clean and sounded great. I chose this over a celestion v30 , very happy with my purchase, just wish it had a different name.

I recently bought this with a 12" Speaker box (for an.instrument), Peavey 12" speaker grille kit (Amazon, also) and this badads speaker. The original speaker I was going to use was a Raven Amplification speaker factory issued speaker made of paper. This speaker is tough and sounds LIKE.OT CAN DISH OUT SOME METAL!!! great buy!!! Very pleased....

It sure is a pile better than the old original clapped out speaker that was in the Roland orange Cube 60. Woke it up and made it playable again for sure. Thanks

when i first installed this speaker into my 60watt all-tube amp, i was really disappointed -- harsh highs and way to much mid. i play old school metal and i want smooth distortion from massive gain.i ran my iPod into the guitar input on my amp, pointed it at 30 motorhead albums, but the mid on zero, the treble on zero, and the bass on 10. turned the volume up as loud as i as i thought i could get away with, and left my house for 8 hours. when i got back, the speaker was warm and creamy and keeps getting better.a great speaker, but it has to be broken in. i suspect this is true for most guitar speakers, especially if you play with high gain.
