About this item

  • 12" Guitar speaker
  • Neodymium Magnet
  • 8 Ohm
  • 60 Watts
  • Around half the weight of a traditional ceramic magnet speaker

The Neo Creamback is every ounce a Classic Celestion, delivering all the magical tone you’d get from a traditional Creamback. The difference is, it’s built with a neodymium magnet: making this speaker around half the weight of a traditional ceramic magnet speaker.Celestion’s engineers have developed a new and innovative way to better harness the mighty forces of the neodymium magnet, enabling us to create a guitar speaker that can deliver authentic Creamback tone with ease, while preserving the benefit of neodymium’s much lighter weight. You still get the low end punch, warm, vocal midrange and sweet refined highs the Creamback is famous for: push it hard and enjoy the ‘race-car growl’ that sets pulses racing. But pick up a cab that’s loaded with Neo Creambacks and you’ll see what makes this speaker truly different.

Sounds great, so far, it is a brand new speak and needs time to "stretch." It's been pretty warm so far, and I have tested it's limit, just a bit. So far, I'm happy about the purchase. It's a good way to get a different sound out of your amp without breaking the bank.

Big weight difference! The amp controls are much easier to hear when adjusting. The Sounds great. Cuts through live. Installed in a Mesa Mark V35 combo. It's not a cheap speaker. Rare earth magnets are apparently more expensive. Worth it to me for the sound and weight savings!

Great speaker, used it in a Ceriatone OTS 20 Mini combo build. Good efficiency and power rating, and the lighter weight helps a lot.

Replaced the Jensen in my original black tolex ToneMaster Deluxe Reverb. With firmware updates and speaker change, it's equivalent to the blonde version. The Jensen has a different voice, it's not a bad speaker. To me, the Celestion is more pleasing and worth the upgrade.

Wow. I just converted my ‘64 Ampeg Combo from the stock Jenson to the Neo Creamback. Now I get all the beautiful cleans AND FINALLY, rich and harmonic dirt, overdrive and fuzz. This speaker completely changed how my amp handles pedals. Hated them before and now absolutely sounds magical!Best decision I’ve made and I’m only using Neo Creambacks from now on!

Expensive, but not that great.

Replaced a V30 with it because the V30 had a harsh kind of scratchy sounding high end. That is turned into a smoother more pleasant high end with this speaker. Still gets good bottom end and the mods are well balanced between the highs and lows. Weight savings is very noticeable and makes a big difference on my back and hands when I carry the amp. In a 2x 12 you’d save about 12 to 14 lbs!

Celestion put in your NEO magnet on an already great speaker so you don’t have to break your back as much lifting your amplifier or speaker cabinet. I have not compared this speaker to the original cream back, however I can tell you it sounds great my little Mesa boogie combo sounds better with this speaker than the stock Mesa boogie speaker end it has a nice Pollard pattern, it doesn’t been like other 12 inch speakers do. It’s smooth and does not have that spiky sound. And it’s almost light enough throw like a frisbee. LOL,

I'm getting older and lugging gear twice/ gig is not my favorite thing. I had tried a lighter weight amp (Katana 50) and didn't bond with it. I came across a Peavey VK112. After putting in 6L6 biased KT66's and a 5751 V1, it sounded good even with the stock speaker. However, it was heavy. I bought this to save 5 lbs in the amp. I'm glad I did. It may not seem like much but lifting it in and out of the SUV for gigs and rehearsals is worth it. It also has great tone. The amp sounds better even before I added graphic EQ into the effects loop. Now I can dial in the tone for the acoustics of whatever venue we're playing. This transducer is rated at 60 W RMS so my 50W RMS amp has more effective headroom without causing the speaker to break up. It's worth money.
