This is like a V30 on steriods. Much thicker, but with present mids. It breaks up early, so it's great for heavy styles, especially when paired with a cleaner speaker (like a Swamp Thang).

I know vintage 30's has a tone thats awesome for any kind of rock music but some hate the harsh high mid spike, which actually is needed sometimes for certain setups, but these have great clarity and nice cut without the harsh high mid spike, highly recommend

I have had a few Celestions in my 68 CDR with no issues (I am going back to a Creamback) but this Eminence CV 65 would not fit as the holes were off a bit: just a tad so I really could not make new holes for it and I would of never done so in the first place. I always read Fender and Eminence were like peanut butter and jelly so I kept looking at it and trying over and over so gently to not ruin anything but it was a no go. So I tried it in my Marshall DSL 40cr. I was not crazy about it as it was out of the box I felt it took all the sizzle away but I will say it tightened up the red channel and made that sound excellent so if you're into that perhaps this is for you but alas not what I wanted. It seemed dry compared to the stock V-type if that makes sense. I always have problems describing or understand terms to explain sound but that's about it from me. Incidentally tried my creamback and did not like the immediate results , too bright to the point the tone knobs either killed it or not enough to enjoy. Plugged into my V30 cab that is worn in and that's what I'll be getting for the Marshall. Anyhow sorry to fly off topic but I purchased this for my 68 CDR and it won't fit and I am curious if anyone will try it and have better results. I hope to return this for a V30.

I purchased this CV-75 to replace the OEM (also made by Eminence) Peavey Sheffield 30 in a Peavey 1x12 cabinet. With the OEM speaker everything always sounded more shrill and fizzy than I wanted. I mostly play detuned/modern metal and everything just came out very shrill. When I was in bands back in the 90s I used an 80's Marshall 4x12 JCM 800 cabinet but that was just too much for home use and sold it to a recording studio years ago. I have always missed the sound that it made though. This Eminence is the closest thing I've heard to a 4x12 sound out of a 1x12 cabinet. Lots of mid presence and a clear but resonant bass. It's still definitely breaking in, and sounds better every day. Would love to try a 2x12 with this and the Swamp Thang. Highly recommended.

Slapped this beauty into a 50Watt Solid State amp and I never looked back. Big, tight low-end! The warm mids are to die for, and the high-end is truly open and air-y. What I love the most about this speaker is when under high-gain and distortion the separation of tonal qualities still rings through. Perfect. I'm Very pleased with this speaker and purchase.

Really starting to love this speaker. I've been running it with a VHT Special 6 and it's not only loud but it adds a nice mid-range boost to the scooped blackface tone stack on the amp. It's starting to break-in now (couple months 5-6 hours a week) and really sits nicely in the mix.

Beautiful sounding speaker, my favorite among my private jacks (#2), governors (#3) and celestion V30s (#4). Same awsome balanced roar as the PJ's but with much more volume an sensitivity, and an extra dose of complex mid harmonics, never being harsh at all... Just pure butter.
