If I could give this company more than a 5 star I would! First I want to mention that when I was doing research on vents for our cabin home, I stumbled across this company on Amazon. With the different options that they offered for these vents, I was unsure of what I needed to buy. I looked them up doing a google search and emailed them directly. The next thing I didn’t expect was they called me on the phone the next day ready to answer any and all questions I had about the product I was looking for. Let me tell you I was completely shocked that they took the time to reach out to me to make sure that what I was buying was what I needed. We ended up purchasing the unfinished vent because I wanted to stain it close to the color of our cabin. The box arrived, undamaged and shipped quickly. When I say quickly, I meant about a week to 10 days. These vents are all handmade and come in various sizes. I opened up the box expecting a less than desirable product as I usually get through companies selling on Amazon. Much to my surprise, the vents were absolutely beautiful and everything I hoped for. The workmanship and the time that they took to build these vents was absolutely outstanding. The smell of fresh wood as I opened up the box was nice. I could tell that these vents were handmade and the quality control on the product was exceptional. I posted some before (upon arrival) and after (stained with TWP) pictures of the vents. The stain took beautifully to the vents, and I absolutely cannot wait to put them up on our cabin. Thank you so much for providing quality workmanship and a great product!

I bought two of the rough cedar brick mold GVWVE20X2800SFUWR. They arrived well packed and undamaged and are very well put together. The corner miters meet extremely well, and all joints were glued and tight. Well worth the money.The only complaint i have, and this has been mentioned before and was not a surprise, was the use of screen only. These vents really need hardware cloth AND screen. The hardware cloth needs to be closest to the outside to prevent mice from entering, and screen is still needed for bugs. Mice will chew through screen only.Easy enough to fix if you are at all handy, but it should come from the factory like this. Still, exceptional value for the money, and the quality blows the box store offerings out of the water.

I needed to replace my attic vent window and I'm lucky that I found this. Otherwise the contractor was going to manually build it, which would be noticeably more expensive

Very well built gable vent. Comes with regular screening (like a screen door). I replaced the screen with a larger mesh hardware cloth to allow more airflow.

Bought two. Both had defects on the frame. If this were visible to passersby I might have considered returning. Rough sawn areas needed sanding before applying primer. While the metal screen is better than non-metal it is very fragile. If you are in an area where there are critters like squirrels and chipmunks I highly recommend adding a layer of strong wire mesh. Critters will chew right through the provided screen. Ideally this should be made with the wire mesh on the outside layer but I did not want to chance attempting to remove the staples and trim holding down the screen and breaking the trim. The attached images are not stock but show my additional trim and wire mesh that should come standard. Be sure to pre-drill if you add screws as cedar will crack easily. I do not think that I would attempt stapling the mesh down as the thin cedar trim will crack easily if you attempt it.

Was disappointed what they showed in the picture and what I received was two different vents . The one you see in the picture it’s really nice red cedar and what I received mix cedar and poor quality. Would really like to try again to see if I would get a better quality of red cedar. Bob M

We searched our local builders, Lowe's and Home Depot to find gable roof vents and could not find what we wanted for our remodel job on our house. On a whim, I searched Amazon never thinking we would find exactly what we wanted and available on Prime for two day delivery. Was I ever wrong! These Ekena Millwork Gable Vents are super! They are exactly as described and come complete with screen attached. They are beautiful, functional and when they are stained to match the house, they will be perfect! The price is very competitive with the fiberglass and plastic alternatives we found at the big box home improvement stores. And they all would have been special order and taken a week to come in. I will post a photo when the job is finished but I look forward to seeing what else Ekena Millwork has to offer.
