I tore out the original gable vent made of wood and completely rotted. In restoring this house built in 1942 I’ve made a concerted effort to replace any deteriorated wood with PVC that lasts a lifetime and maintenance free. It took several weeks for this vent to arrive but it was worth the wait. I spray painted it with a high quality acrylic black paint to match the other black trim on the house and then I mounted a new attic vent van behind it as seen in the photo. I expect this new PVC vent to outlive me.

I was pretty nervous that these would be massive on my small rental rehab however once they got up and replaced the triangle wedges that were there previously, they were perfect. They are very high quality and look great with Hardie board.

We recieved this after a long wait, just to find that the orientation is horizontal not vertical. We were hoping to replace a broken gable vent which is an odd size (29"H x 19"W) and the picture shows the wrong orientation.

Dimensions were accurate and product was as described. Minus 1 star because the pvc was of cheaper quality than what I'm used to.

Ordered one type of “functional” gable and it arrived not like the picture and with the back barely open for ventilation at all. Returned it and bout a more expensive one from same company and while it is actually functional it arrived broken after a two week wait on shipping. Not thrilled
