Your cart is empty.Gable vents work to provide ventilation releasing stagnant air preventing damage from humidity and optimizing temperature control. Gable vents are particularly useful during the summer months when hot air rises and is trapped in the attic where it can transfer itself down through the ceiling and back into the level below decreasing the effectiveness of air conditioning systems. A gable vent is located at the attic area commonly on the exterior wall where the two planes of a sloping roof join forming a triangle. The gable can be any symmetrical shape but the triangle is among the most common. Other vent shapes include rectangles steeples circles and octagons. Gable vents are fitted with horizontal ventilation slats called louvers. You can also add a mesh screen to be placed behind the vent allowing air to circulate while keeping insects out.Features. While pretty and paintable, there is no good way to attach and there is no screen.Description indicated functional.

The openings are very small about a 1/4 of an inch. Do not allow true air flow. Would return but a installed it and have screw hols init now. Ordered something different, this will be going in the trash.

Not quite the right size for my window (my husband had to put on a respirator and sand it down to size, but once in, it provided instant relief from the harsh rays of the sun!
