I'm using this tool to add decorative burn lines to wooden ornaments turned on a lathe. It's simple switch the wires of different sizes which are conveniently supplied. Cut a vee for wire to sit in and wrap wire half around holding on to the wooden handles.

I bought these to use on my lathe when turning and wanting a wood burned line. I’ve used regular wire before and it’s hard to control. Although the set is a little more expensive it has nice handles and rings that hold the wire in place. This allows you to put good tension on the wire and get an even burn when you’re turning your projects. I turned over 20 snowman as gifts and I like the fact that there are different wire size I can use in this kit to create whatever wire burn size I want. Overall very happy and the fact that there are three different sizes as well as three different lengths give you flexibility and options in your woodworking
