Very nicely finished bright grass hinges. But a silver pin for the stop of the spring. That should’ve been bright brass too it sticks out.

Had to replace a broken hinge/closer on the door to our garage. This 4" hinge with rounded corners fit perfectly in the existing mortises and works nicely. The price is a lot lower than other options I found online, and I am happy with the quality. These are well made, solid brass, and easy to adjust (spring tension for closing force). When you install, I recommend you use both hinges, even if you only have 1 bad one to replace. You can set the spring tension of the 2 hinges so the door closes with the right amount of force and the load is being shared across 2 spring devices. Follow the instructions included in the box for setting tension. It will be trial and error, but add tension until the door closes on its own regardless of how far open it was.My only small complaint is that the spring setting pins they give you stick out a couple mm or so. They give you a tool that is basically a little round punch you can stick in a vacant pin hole next to the one you used, and hit it with a hammer to bend the inside end of the pin. I think maybe if you do this it pulls the pin in those extra 2mm. I chose not to do this step, because it would then be difficult to pull out the pin if I ever want to adjust the spring tension. The pins stay firmly in place just due to the spring tension and don't need to be jammed in place, in my opinion.

One of my spring hinges on the door to the garage broke and I used these to replace it and the other original one.The screw holes in these hingers were set differently from my original hinges but it wasn't a big deal to drill new holes. Besides that there were no problems during the install. Once in, I tensioned according to instructions and the door closes just as it should. I particular like the Allen socket on top to tension the spring as opposed to using the tensioning rod.

The Dynasty spring loaded door hinge fit perfectly at my mom’s house. We used it on her front door because she has a tendency to leave the door open. The color also matched the existing hardware on the door. The hinge itself feels solid and with some minor adjustments we got it to work just right without a big slam each time it closed. For my mom’s door we used two hinges.

Fit like a glove. Happy to find it online when big box hardware stores did not have what I needed. Installed directly in place of original hinge so no extra fussing with door required. Not sure what “sheerness” means with respect to this product, so did not rate that category.

Perfect replacement for standard hinges. Easy to adjust. My door into the garage is solid core and has three hinges. I replaced 2 with these auto close hinges. Door used to swing open on its own. Now it closes on its own. Heavy duty and good looking. It took longer to remove the old hinges as they had about 5 coats of paint over the screws than it was to install these hinges. I used paint remover and let it set for about 40 minutes. If you do this, get the gel type remover so it will stick to the hinges.UPDATE (13 months):These hinges have held up very well. I bought another pair for our French patio door. Now when our grandsons go outside the door doesn’t stay open. It automatically closes behind them. Now we’re trying to decide if we want the front door to close automatically.

I was having issues with mosquitoes flying into my home every time I opened the front and/or patio doors and it was becoming a pain! decided to hop on Amazon and see what options were available to keep this from happening. found these spring loaded hinges that fit my door perfectly and had a variety of color options to match existing hinges. bought the set, and received in a couple of days. installed and tuned within 20 minutes on 2 separate doors. now whenever someone goes in or out, the door closes softly by itself due to the spring tension, and I could not be happier.so good that i suggested to a few friends having the same issue. great price, great quality, and easy to install

The spring loaded hinges work as described. The problem is that they don't offer any resistance to slamming - meaning when you set the springs hard enough to close the door, it will slam shut if the person using the door opens it fully before releasing it. It would be nice if the hinges had some kind of friction bearing to help slow the closure speed of the door.
