Let me start off by saying this is a fantastic tool and almost all parts of it work very well. However, like many other users, my handle broke off within a dozen uses. The handle is made from a hard, brittle alloy, but the socket into which it screws is much softer and easily malleable. While the socket is deep, the threaded portion is very shallow. It only took a week for the threads in the socket to strip to the point that the handle is no longer usable.I bought the bender on sale, so I'm not too bothered by having to shove a screwdriver into the socket as a makeshift fix. It works fine this way. Ultimately I'll probably grind down the diameter of the original handle so it can sit deeper in the socket to use as a lever. Rethreading the socket is not an option because it's just going to wear down again.Aside from the broken handle, the tool works great. the dies show no signs of wear after five months of use in a busy studio. I'm bending dead soft sterling and 10k-22k up to 10mm wide at 12-18 gauge (1mm-2mm). It's worked fine even with harder, nickel-based white gold alloys.

Price is nice for what you get. If you have thick stainless steel spoons or forks you would need a press instead of this. But I do like this unit.

It’s a great product it does what it’s supposed to do they give you a good amount of bits to put in. It takes a little while to master the art of bending, but once you get it down, it’s great.

The handle broke on the second day of use! I was bending a piece of silver ware and the handle snapped at the treaded end where it connects to the drum press. I had bent several similar pieces the prior day without any problem. The silver ware piece was not thick or heavy duty just a typical piece of a silver plated spoon. The prior day the tool was working as expected, no issues and the bending was pretty much effortless. Very disappointed. I have looked to see if there is parts replacement but there does not seem to be DWIKE web site.
