The rubber grip pad was separating from the grip & peeling back, the feel of it is good otherwise and it works as an ext-battery and the portrait shutter button works but the IR remote does not. I checked the remote itself and it is emitting IR light, the IR sensor inside the unit may be defective as it is not detecting the remote, it could be the switch? I'll see if I can get it to work, if not I'm not going to go through the trouble of returning it because I can use the IR Remote on my D5200 instead. It's no where near the cost of a Nikon Ext. Grip so for under $40 it is what it is.

Very very satisfied. Dont go for other grips. Go for DSTE. Feels sturdy in hands! Grip is more rubbery than camera grip. No chance of slipping out of hands. As a surprise i got 4 NiMH battery charger also 6 AA 2300mAh NiMH batteries! It was not listed in product details while buying! So now it feels totally worth it! Otherwise i was planning to buy batteries as my 3-4 AA batteries died recently! So thank you vey much seller! keep it up! Look forward to doing more business with you! The remote is not as sensitive as nikon remote. May be the battery in it is about to die! With new battery it may work as well as the nikon remote. The shutter button on grip works seemlessly if the given cord is connected to shutter/gps port! Totally satisfied. Go for it!

This grip has worked great for me. I have large hands, so it helps me keep a firmer hold of the camera. Without the grip half my hand is off the camera. Great quality for the price, I would never pay the full price of a Nikon branded grip, I just don't see the point.

This grip works great in every way. For the money it's perfect! I highly recommend this if you don't want to break the bank and buy Nikon, like I didn't. I was worried it might not work as well as the genuine brand, but honestly, I can't tell the difference. All I wanted was the extra battery power, but even the wireless remote works like a charm. Very glad I bought this. Saved hundreds!!!

Back in 2007 I purchased a D40, and in 2008 I purchased the Targus battery grip for it. In April of 2016, I purchased a D5200 to replace my aging D40. I knew I wanted a battery grip, but the common design (two batteries inserted in back of the grip), just did not appeal to me. I searched until I found the DSTE grips. I liked what I saw, and ordered it before the D5200 even arrived.The grip arrived two days early. The grip included a battery cover over the contacts which plugged inside the camera. That was one of the little things that I like. The grip was rubber front to back, and not textured plastic. Under the grip is a place for attaching your camera strap, allowing me to move the trap away from the camera controls.The fit isn't perfect, but I understand that the grip fits both D5100 and D5200, and Nikon keeps playing with the dimensions from model to model. The real test with be how long the grip lasts.- Ron.

I had another brand of vertical battery grip for my Nikon D5200 and it just wasn't built well and did not like the feel of it. I purchased the DSTE Pro with the remote and it was a breeze to install and use. The best part is the side loading battery compartment. It loads from the side instead from the back of the unit. AND it comes with a battery holder for 6 AA batteries if the stabndard camera batteries can't be used. The remote works very nicely and for the price was well worth it. I highly recommend this vertical grip for your camera!

This is a must have for the Nikon series cameras. Better grip for horizontal or vertical shots and battery options for flexibility.
