CONS: Contrary to what was advertised AND replied from the seller directly to my question, this is is NOT compatible with Chinese knock-off batteries such as KASTAR and LP. I am not going to try all the brands around, loss of time.PROS: fits D3300 and D5300 nicely.

What I like:- Price- Build quality and materials are good.- As you can see from the pictures its a great match appearance-wise and the fit is nice and secure.- It makes holding the D3200 much more comfortable to hold.- The fact that it comes with a AA battery pack is a bonus.- Allows for vertical shooting with the included cable. What I don't like:- As other reviews have mentioned for some reason the circuitry seems to make the battery power level appear lower than it is. If you eject and re-insert the battery tray it shows the correct battery level again.- It requires an external cable to use the shutter button on the grip.As I only really wanted the grip to make holding the camera more comfortable I can live with the things I don't like.....at least for now.

This is a great product. I bought it to go with my d5300 and t works perfectly. I love the remote that comes with it. It really gives the camera that professional look and also allows for extended battery life. I no longer have to worry about my camera dying on me mid shoot. On a full charger the pack can easily carry me through 4 photo shoots without trouble. And then with the extra tray for AA batteries it makes it so I don’t have to worry at all about running out of juice during my shoot.

excellent product... I do recommend it. The shipment arrived in time well packed no damage. I have never experienced any problem yet from amazon. This product I purchased because of my original battery and its charger got misplaced. so idea is to use AA batteries to power up the camera. I found this product n search and gave it a try. It works great. But the six AA Eneloop batteries are not giving that much stand up as much og batteries use to give. I had one og battery yet with me so I planned to use that also with new charger. But this product is great. saved me.

Worked when i first received the item and did a test run for 2-3 minutes. When I took it on vacation a week later it worked for 5 minutes and then stopped. Kept saying both batteries were dead and wouldn't work at all. Tried multiple batteries and each gave the same issue. Batteries worked 100% correctly when used in the camera in the original manufacture's configuration. Not sure if this is a one-off defection or a common problem. I returned the product and would not purchase again.

I considered this battery grip even though I already had one (different model, altogether). In reading the description, I was attracted to the feature of choosing between rechargeable (EN-EL 14) and AA batteries (as a back up). Another selling point for me was that the batteries are inserted in a slide-in tray, whereas the grip I have the batteries were inserted through a drop-down door in the rear of the grip. In my old grip, oftentimes the batteries were not held in properly, thus not allowing the full benefit of having two batteries inserted. However, this grip is well designed (in my opinion) In both cases the batteries rest inside a slide-in tray and remain secured. A great deal at a reasonable price. I don't really like this grip, I love it!

I am very happy with my MB-D3100 battery grip. It's the only battery grip that I have found that has a AA battery carriage in addition to the carriage for the manufacturer batteries. I have tested out both and they work as they should. The grip does have more punch when utilizing the nikon batteries but that is to be expected. I also like that it has an infrared remote. It requires you to focus on your subject and then in decent lighting it will work as described, as it is Infrared it will not function properly in low lit situations. (Note: the remote uses CR2032 which are easily available. I would suggest changing the battery out with a better one). The grip improves grip and function without adding too much weight, which was important to me, as I purchased the D3300 mainly for its compactness and light weight, while still staying with Nikon as an everyday camera. What I really like is how it looks similar to the battery grips put out by Nikon (I currently have one on my D300) without the price tag. The only things it lacks is the ability to control point of focus, shutter, ISO and f-stop, and the ability not to use a cable in order for the battery grip functions to operate.Overall, it functions as it should and I am very pleased. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a battery grip for the D3300.*Things I would like to see are a case for the extra battery carriage to be stored when not in use and the ability to purchase additional carriages to facilitate quick battery change outs when shooting. If these are in fact able to be purchased please let me know.

Had one of the battery grips that load from the back on my D3200. The latches holding the batteries in broke and the batteries only worked intermittently. Bought this one and my troubles were over. Liked it so much I bought a second one for my D3300. Nice to have the option to use AAs in a pinch. I did not buy the grip for the remote. I tried the remote, and it worked, but it's not why I bought the grip. I love that it comes with two trays, one holds two En-EL14 batteries and the other holds AA batteries. To use the vertical shutter release on the grip you have to attach the included release extension cord to the camera. Not very practical, but it works. Again, not why I bought this grip so I never attach the extension cord. So, why did I buy this grip? Because it gives the D3300/3200 a more professional feel and look. I like the way the camera is balanced when longer lenses are attached. It feels more substantial in my hand. I like that I can shoot all day and not worry about running out of power. The price is right for what you get. As stated, I own two of these grips, one mounted on a D3200 and the other on a D3300. Been using them for over 4 years and they have never failed me. If you want the best grip for your D3200, D3300.... this is the one.review imagereview imagereview image

This replaced my Vivitar battery grip for my Nikon D3200 with the DSTE. The Vivitar tripod nut started coming out of the case and I was fearful that it would come out through use. I did a lot of research to find this battery grip stood above others that I researched. This battery grip is well made. It appears to be constructed better than the Vivitar grip. This comes with two battery trays. One for the standard Nikon battery's and the other tray will hold 4 each AA batteries. Its nice having the ability to use AA batteries to power the phone should you run down your camera battery's. I like the side discharge battery tray and locking mechanism. This one has rubber grip on the front and back. Where the Vivitar only had rubber grip material on the front. This one seems a lot easier to use and handle. This one even comes with a remote control. The battery grip has an IR receiver built into it, so if your camera doesn't have a remote shutter capability, this battery grip would allow you to take remote pictures with the enclosed transmitter. I would definitely recommend.
