Drill America DWT Series Qualtech High-Speed Steel round adjustable die is desired for improved wear life. Round Dies are chamfered on both faces. One side has a 2 to 3 thread chamfer for threading, the other side has a 1 to 1-1/2 thread chamfer for threading close to a shoulder. Adjustment is obtained by a fine pitch screw which forces the sides of the die apart, or allows them to spring together. The slot is beveled so that when the die is use in a machine holder the adjusting screw can be removed and adjustment made by the adjusting screws in the holder.

1/8-27 NPS is what it says. This is straight pipe thread. Good mostly for lamps and lighting. It worked fine on hard steel tubing. It is high speed steel. It was sharp and cut a clean thread. 1" OD fit my die holder just fine. Fit and finish are good. Yes, it is made in China but the quality is good on what I received.

This 1/8-27 NPS die is marked Made in China. I could not find country of origin disclosed on the Amazon listing and had hoped that it would be made in USA since the company is Drill America. Quality may be just fine (or maybe not) but I do not want to support China. I will be returning.

Did not work well for me on PVC pipe as a re-threader - looks to be of good quality.

Maybe okay for repairing damaged threads, but worthless for cutting new threads. Well, it makes threads, but way less than 50% engagement in proper 1/8-27 NPS female threads.I'll get my thread micrometer out someday when I'm bored and check it out.

Works great! I don't have a handle for it so I locked it in a vise while rethreading a tappered pipe, and it worked well.
