I had to tap a piece of 1/4" 304 stainless steel bracket. It took a lot of effort, cutting fluid, and it didn't want to stay straight....but it got the job done eventually. Afterwards it was apparent that this would be a single use item.

Works great for my CV axle shaft just didnt have anyway to hold the die but found a way to hold it.
