Ordered 12, because that was the only size option but figured oh well. Opened the package and only received 10. Didn't realize the were stubby drill bits before ordering as that was the only size available that I found.

I was able to drill 43 x 7/16" holes through 1/2" thick steel beams, with just ONE bit. No centre punch required either.I would definitely recommend Drill America cobalt bits for steel.

I used this special fixture and bushing to guide the drill that was powered by this handheld egg-beater tool.I drilled through one quarter inch gun steel on a round top bolt action rifle. I have a milling machine, but I was testing the new hand powered drill.

First one has drilled 47 holes so far in 3/4" 1018 - all to be tapped 1/4-20, still seems sharp. Stubby length is the way to go on the small holes - much less wandering of the drill bit.

Just used these today to port a stainless steel rifle barrel. Worked great. No visible wear after 10 ports. I’ll be able to use these for numerous jobs. Excellent quality for the $.
