Installed today and works properly. My local Ford dealer quoted my $800 (parts and 3 hours labor) which I thought was excessive, but I was curious since I knew it would be difficult wedging my 55-year-old body underneath the dash to fix. Took about an hour which was mostly trial and error trying to remove the top mounting screw by feel.

my hands are too clumsy big or long. I was able to remove the bad one but I was not able to put it in. Paid a mechanic to finish the job.

Fits exactly like the OEM part and functions well, only thing is a nightmare to reach the screws to remove and reinstall, thanks Dodge for a lousy design

Got this piece for my 2017 Ford Fusion SE when the driver side was only blowing out hot air while the passenger side was fine. Took me close to 2hrs to get the original piece out because it's on the right side of the gas pedal with the top screw tucked away where you can barley get to it. Dealership wanted $1000 for parts and labor. Buying this part for $16 and doing it myself was a no brainer. Depending on the vehicle you have, you might need to get a 1/4 ratchet like I did.4/16/2024 - update. Still going strong on my driver side but the passenger did the same thing. Luckily the same piece works on the passenger side since it's dual zone. Piece fit perfect but definitely took awhile to get the screws out. Watch a YouTube video that has a step by step guide.

Ford wanted like 180 bucks for this stupid thing. So it made sense to try something different. This one works great no clicks no grinds no errors. As for ease of install it's not the parts fault It's everything under the dash of the Ford edge

I had hot air blowing out of the driver side vents even with the A/C on. A little Internet research told me this was the most likely culprit (after pulling HVAC power to force a re-sync did nothing). The fact that the actuator is tucked up between the brake and gas pedal levels did not lend to an easy task of replacing it (I had to fully lower and recline the driver seat and lie upside-down with my head in the foot well), but I prevailed in the end. But that's just the car design, not any kind of problem with the actuator itself. Cabin air is now the right temp on both sides - and its been a month now, so this little gear box is working just fine.
