After I replaced with this one on my car I can actually use the recirculate air function now! Noise would always sound like a *plapplapplapplapplap*Seems to work just fine. Install SUCKED tho.Get a headlamp, flashlight, parts tray, shorty wrench, and a phone camera to get better angles.Setting your phone to SELFIE CAMERA will allow you to get up Under the dash and have an idea what you’re doing. No need to rip out anything or do anything super dumb on my 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier LS Sport 2door.Job took about 25mins laying on my back in the summer.

The part works perfectly for my 2004 Cavalier. Hard to get to location under the dash behind the glovebox. No need to remove any dash or glovebox parts as that won’t really get you to location. See YouTube vids to aid you. You’ll have to reach up blindly to the right of the blower motor. Two screws and one alignment peg holds part in place. I think 7/32 (5.5mm) Long socket for upper (I was able to remove upper screw with just long socket and fingers) and short socket for lower with small ratchet. Be patient and take a break. Totally worth it.

This was a hard part to find at my local/regional auto parts stores...and some online resources. The Amazon page says it will NOT fit my 2011 Tacoma. However, online references match the part numbers associated with the specs for this part. There is also a few other users that have left reviews indicating that they too have been prompted that the part does not fit their respective vehicles. Don't waste your time riding around and burning up fuel...check the OEM #'s in the spec section and place an order. This part fit perfectly! With Amazon Prime, you can't go wrong! It was in the mail-two days later! Works like a champ!

The Amazon vehicle match indicated it doesn't fit my 2005 Tacoma. But the description says it replaces 52494371 for Chevy. The one I removed from the Tacoma had that exact part number on it (see photo). I ordered the Dorman 604-109 on Prime and received it with 2-day shipping. Installation was simple and it works fine. This is first day and I can only hope it will last as long as the original. If online estimates are true - I save $300 bucks.Note: remove and replace is a simple but tedious task. The screws are in a very tight area. Use a small socket set with a 5.5mm socket. Loosen the screws with ratchet. Once loose enough use a very short extension and the socket and finish removing by hand. Same on re-installation - use the short extension and socket to start screws until you have to use ratchet to finish tightening. Re-attach the wiring harness. (There is a YouTube for this of course).

This is the perfect part, for a 2004 Chevy Cavalier, to stop the tapping sound from under the right side of dash. You really cannot see much, but you can feel where the 5.5 mm bolt heads are, and just barely enough room to get a mini ratchet and socket on them. Remember to line the white rotating part of the actuator to the same angle as the actuator you took off. You will have to put the new actuator, white part, over the top of the bar that controls the blend door before you bolt it down. All of this is mainly done by feel. It helped me to put a piece of tape around the socket and the bolt head to hold it in place while trying to feed the bolt into it's hole. It only took about 30 minutes to change it out, but it is kind of frustrating. Good Luck.

I purchased this item for my car. It was very prompt shipping and the item was exactly as promised. I saved a lot of money installing it on my own. I am 100% happy with this purchase!!

As anyone who's had to look around and try to get this door actuator repaired knows, it's outrageous. Having worked on cars most of my life because of shady mechanics, I decided to replace this in a 2007 Cavalier. So, the $600 or so you get quoted for the job is a total rip. If you can lay upside down for 20 minutes or so (I'm old and a bit fatter than I'd like or it might have been faster), this part will do the job and you'll save a fortune. There's no need to pull the dash apart, you just have to reach up from under the glove box and do it by feel. Excellent part, very happy.

My 2003 Cavalier was making this horrible clicking noise like a turn signal on steroids, only when the AC was set all the way to the left for "Internal Air Cycling" instead of pulling air from outside. I took this off blind with a 5.5mm deep 1/4" socket (2 fasteners) and ordered this replacement which was $20 cheaper than local places. Put the new one on and it worked perfectly.I plugged the power in and turned the car on until the turny thing matched the angle of the old one so it would fit on right.

I had a clicking noise on my 2004 Cavalier. After replacing the old actuator it went away. It wasn't too complicated and took about 20 minutes to remove the old one and put in the new one. If you are replacing this part in a cavalier, you can do it from under the glove box instead of taking off the whole dash. It's a tight space and you will probably do some groaning and cussing, but it beats taking apart the whole dash.I'm glad I can use the normal A/C settings again, instead of being forced to use recirculate! If you are trying to do the same thing check youtube there are a few good videos with people explaining it.Works best with a 5.5mm socket and mini ratchet.
