Spent more than $50 including shipment on 4 of these hold down bolts. They work great but is a bit too expensive compared to the generic ones they sell at any parts store.

I keep getting warning chime with no trouble light, I went through all fluids, light bulbs, seatbelts, but could not stop the chime. I keep looking and finally found one of the battery's tiedowns had rusted through and the battery was loose on one side. Replaced the hold-down with this new exact replacement and the chime went away. It worked and saved my sanity, no more chime. Just my story and the fix worked. Exact replacement for my Dodge Dakota SLT 4.7L 2003. Well made.

I found these bolts were a perfect replacement for my truck. As packaged, the assembled clips and threads are painted, presumably to prevent corrosion. The paint on the threads increases the force needed to thread the bolts into the clip. I put the clip end of the assembly into a vice, sprayed WD50 on the threads and turned the bolt to cut through the paint coating. I used enough force so as not to bend the approximately 1/4" diameter bolts. I was then able to installed the bolts into the original clips on the truck. When I broke the corroded OEM bolts, I called the Dodge dealer to learn the parts were no longer available. I found the price okay, particularly after learning the dealer could not get a replacement. Shortly after installation of the set, I ordered a set for the other truck battery. The truck has and requires two batteries.

This is one of the many OEM style parts the Dorman HELP series offers that either isn't available by the original manufacturer or is available but is a hard to find special order and/or expensive. I bought this to replace a missing battery hold down bolt on a 2000 Durango. Without this attached to the hold down bracket, the battery bounces all over and used to pop the battery cable off causing all sorts of problems. While these bolts are available from Dodge, they are expensive. This one fit perfectly and was very inexpensive. It solved a very annoying problem for me.
