First off, I wore half the diamond coating off the bit drilling thru one ceramic, bathroom tile. So, you are not going to get many holes done with them. As far as the jig goes, it's a real good idea. But, for it to work with the suction cups, you need to have perfectly flat tile with no grout or it won't stick. It does have some holes that you could screw it down with but that won't work with much outside of wood. And it won't work with that if the screw holes left behind are objectionable. In the end, I just practiced with getting the core drill started by tipping it into the work. It didn't take me long to get the hang of doing it freehand. I recommend you pass on this tool. it was a rather large disappointment.

With hole saw bits, there is a center smaller drill bit to hold it in place while the larger outer saw blade cuts the hole. This ensures a smooth finished circle. This has no center bit to hold these in place. So, they give you a large brace that is only useful if what you are drilling is in the middle of a large flat smooth non-porous surface that suction cups can adhere to.So, good luck if you want to drill into things you would need a diamond bit for like ceramics, curved glass, plastics, and so many others. That these tools have a limited application, I am still happy with the purchase and I'm glad to have another tools option.
