Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation introduces Ice Hardened hole saws, a new generation of hole saws that offer up to 50% longer life than the competition and are ideal for metal and wood cutting in a wide variety of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and maintenance/repair applications. Milwaukee Ice Hardened products utilize a proprietary cryogenic hardening process that improves upon traditional heat treat processes. Unlike surface coatings that wear away, cryogenics harden to the core by minimizing soft metal (austenite) and creating more hard metal (martensite). The result is a product that is more consistently hard throughout, resulting in life up to 50% longer than the competition. Milwaukee Ice Hardened hole saws also feature Matrix II bi-metal construction for greater durability and a unique precision-ground tooth geometry for faster cutting. A positive rake angle cuts more aggressively while deeper gullets quickly remove chips. A radiused back face reduces stress on the teeth, ensuring that the blade delivers optimum life and speed. Functional slot geometry allows for a standard slotted screwdriver to fit completely underneath the plug for easier plug removal. It's a nice set, but at least a little bit of a bait and switch - the model # is correct so it seems that the item description and picture are both wrong:1) The hole saws appear to be the standard Hole Dozer rather than Ice Hardened saws.2) As others have pointed out, the case is very different. Hole saws are held in place by removable pins that slot into a bottom plate that has to be aligned just right for the case to close properly and hold everything in place, and the drills and other components are loose in a lidded section. It's probably fine for me working from a level bench in my shed, but pins will be constantly falling out and hole saws banging around inside the case if you're not careful.

These hole saws cut metal as expected. Have used them multiple times and have not noticed any amount of dulling of the blades.

Great quality a nice case .I have used this set a few times & it was easy to see the qualityof this brand. Changing cutters is easy & the designof the clean out slots is a great plus. If I need to add aanother size cutter , I know it will fit the adapter & bits

This is a great little set of hole saws. It has just enough different sizes for various jobs. Good kit to have in your tool arsenal. The cutting works pretty well, but it really needs some better instructions. Maybe it's just me, but since I've never used hole saws before, it took me a while to figure out how to attach these things on the drill. I think I figured it out, but I'm still not 100% sure. Hard to explain, but it has to do with how to tighten the screw. You'd think they would tell you since it could be a safety hazard it not put on correctly.Also, the biggest hole saw uses a different mandrel than the others. You'll need a drill with 1/2" chuck to use that one. The others you can use with 3/8" chuck.

I initially bought this kit to drill a hole in a kitchen sink where I wanted to add a fresh water faucet. The bit ripped right through the cast acrylic sink without a problem. I know that drilling through an acrylic sink is hardly a difficult task but since then I have drilled through many onther materials including sheetrock, wall studs, fiber pressboard and wood laminate. These bits seem to be very durable and keep their sharp edge very well. They are easy to switch out and are very solid while drilling. The true test will be drilling through metal.The kit itself is very handy. The case keeps everything organized and is well constructed.Overall I am very happy with this kit.
