On arrival the unit was closed, arrived in transparent flimsy plastic case. It did not zero properly, I saw no means to adjust it. The tips of the OD measuring side did not align, but the ID tips did! You'd be better off with a nice steel ruler instead of this caliper. On arrival with the tips closed together the dial showed -1mm. I also saw no means of zeroing it, but I noticed the clear plastic cover on the dial had a tab for opening it, perhaps that is how you zero it? I have buyers remorse.
