I know this is not intended to be a clean hole. I believe it is more of a quick and dirty solution. However, the blade is turned up on the end. It really tears at the wood and makes some big splinters on he surface. I'd prefer the more common straight blade. Also, the tip is not sharp. It's hard to start a hole. On the standard bits that I'm used to using, they have a sharp tip that is is to push into the wood. Doesn't take much pressure. This one walks a bit. I actually started the hole with a smaller standard bit so it didn't walk.
