I rented a chunky SDS drill from the HD for $50 to get this job done. This core bit worked like a champ, once I got the drill into position and started the tool and bit did all the work. Evacutates dust easily enough and leaves a clean finish. The cup isn't terribly deep, so every 3-4" you're going to be chiseling the slug out of the middle to give you enough room to keep going like one would with any hole-saw style tool.I only needed this thing once, and nobody rents them as they are wear items, but nothing else would have gotten the job done so well and the project was worth the price for me.

I did need to build an adapter for the shank to fit into my 1/2" chuck on my drill. That was the least of my worries..... I needed to bore through two 8" concrete walls to run a 4" dryer vent out of my basement. This product worked like a mule! I was thoroughly satisfied at the performance. Ran the variable drill speed on low (NO IMPACT)..... steady pressure and patience is all it took, I did not use any lubricant when boring and this work mule is still ready for more boring! Very pleased with this product and its performance.

Only drilled one hole thru brick and it drilled quite easy.Instructions said not to hammer drill but I didn't have a choice due to the large size of the drill shank it would only fit into a demolition hammer drill and it would only drill while in hammer mode.It did not damage the hole saw but I only drilled one hole.
