If you measure this at its maximal dimensions and squint it is indeed 4 sqft. Just barely. With that said the "usable" space feels a bit lacking. Otherwise the leather seems fine with a good elasticity I like for edge bindings. Probably will not purchase again if at list price though, value was not there.

There are black spots, scratches, a hole, too much of it is damaged to be useful for anything. It kind of looks like it was used under a project someone was working on. some areas feel thinner too like it had been worked. It's like a large piece of scrap leather, unfortunately. I am returning this item.
