Bought these to help get in and out the truck. I have a 1983 Ford f250 4x4 and this truck sits very high. The problem with these bars is they don't stick out far enough from bottom of door and i cant even put my foot on it to climb in the truck. Basically they are there just for looks. As for installation it was pretty straightforward with good instructions. They do look nice but keep in mind that it's just for looks and you will not be able to use as intended.

I installed the black bars on my 1995 Bronco today. They arrived in a large box that looked like the Jolly Green Giant air mailed it to me. Although it was pretty wrecked up the bars arrived in perfect condition. The pictured instructions are a little confusing regarding the front brackets which look backward in the pics. Positioning the rear brackets is not intuitive and need to be adjusted once the 7/16" small middle bracket is attached to the bar. I was really impressed that the installation that did not require any nuts or bolts to be removed from the Bronco. The brackets mount on top of the existing studs so it's a really nicely engineered design. The paint is just glossy black paint on the bars. They are lightweight bars, not heavy duty. I think they will dent easily. They mounted up very nicely and make the truck look awesome. I'm very happy with the end result and would recommend them to anyone at the $130 price I paid. I noted the warranty is the same for the black or the chrome bars in their literature.

Steps are nice. It is getting harder and harder to find things for a 1996 Ford Bronco so finding these was a nice addition. They are slightly slippery when wet but I think adding a coating of rhino liner or some sort of truck bed liner will be perfect.Update on review. The rating still stands. These were worth every penny for the bronco. They are holding up very well and work wonderful given the extra five inches of height it now has.

The bars are well made and strong, as are the component parts. There are great instructions and photographs showing where each component should be placed. Individual sets of bolts, washers, etc. were placed in a heat-sealed plastic bag. The parts list made it easy to identify the components but it would have been great to have them placed in their own labeled bags to simplify determining which part went where (referring to the bolts and washers; the illustrations of the larger parts was excellent and made them easy to identify). I appreciated how well made the items were and how well it all fit together. The manufacturer put a lot of thought into making this fit an old truck. They look good and I can get in the cab without the usual acrobatics and arthritic pain. If I had another truck, I'd buy another pair right now! Good job!

Fit was right on, looks good on the pkup, and got it in record time. The box was a little battered up but nothing lost.
