This may sounds a touch pedantic, but the spreader poles are a bit too big for the sleeves and the suspension is a bit too clumsy for me. I threw out the poles (you achieve the same result with a bit of cord that comes with it, so why bother with the poles?) and I’ve replaced the suspension with a whopper suspension system (whoopie cords with tree huggers and carabiners). I found that the weight limit is identical, but the versatility and ease of use is phenomenal with the whoopie suspension system.I would recommend hammock campers consider those alterations as it will dramatically change your experience for the better.

I’ve bought a few things from DD before and always been pleased by the quality and value of their products. I recently bought this hammock and mistakenly thought the sleeves for the bug net poles were sewn shut and I messaged DD asking if I could return the item despite the fact that I had modified the hanging straps. They responded super fast and I went ahead and returned the hammock and ordered a replacement. As it turns out when the replacement came I realized I had made a faux pas and that there was nothing wrong with the sleeves for the poles (I had just not seen the slot where they go). 100% my mistake but DD were brilliant. Anyone thinking that the sleeves are stitched entirely closed double check the sleeve and look for a slot near the edge of one side… it can be easy to miss on a cursory inspection. Anyway I inspected the hammock, checked zippers, stitching etc and everything looks great. I’ve not used the hammock yet but can’t wait to do so. The design looks way more convenient to use than my current hammock set up which entails using a separate bug net and the poles that come with it should keep the net nicely away from my face unlike my old set up.

I used this for a week long bushcraft/hunting trip. Was very pleased with this Hammock. I used the 4x4 m tarp and the underhammock quilt with this in chilly weather. Worked very well for me.

If you are looking at this hammock, it means you know what you are doing. Its comfortable, its reliable and its versatile. You cant take the bug net off, that doesn't bother me though.I modified my suspension system to fit my needs and it was very easy to do.

My Second Tarp from this Company, and along with the newly purchased Camouflage Hammock, this product completes my Bugout Equipment. They are just so durable, with so many set-up options, I have always managed to get a shelter up in no time, whatever the environment. The Pattern is almost perfect, and I am hoping that with time it's slightly reflective surface will ease, as it is a bit shiney on my first two erections.Concentrate on folding up tightly if packing away while wet, or its a struggle to get back into the Bag. If dry though, this is not as difficult.Tie and Hank your cordage before you go, and you'll set up in half the time, and if you use duck tape to mark your centre line hoops, that will pay you dividends in a rush.Swap out the metal tent pegs for alloy ones, and add 2 more, this will keep the weight down yet add more build options.Order your Para-Chord, Learn some quick release knot's, and the world is your oyster.
