Flesh side of the leather has been coated with something, making it impossible to skive or dye until the coating is completely removed. It takes a VERY LONG time to get it all off with acetone, adding an extra hour or more to making my dog collars. Wouldn't buy again. Is a very nice, heavy weight strap, but still, I'll pass.

This leather is great veg tan, and it's very strong. However, I was hoping for a much rougher finish on one side. One is smooth with a tad bit of roughness, and the other is very smooth. I was looking to make a strop out of this, however both sides are too smoothed off to absorb emulsion. I attempted to roughen it up with sandpaper etc and couldn't get anywhere near the results I was wanting.

I ordered a 60 inch strap and recieved a 54 inch strap. Quality is great otherwise but the length is 6 inches short. I have nontime to return it due to a deadline on completion and delivery of a product I am making. I am disappointed.
