I bought a similar unit to this 20 years ago and it performed great but it finally wore out. I'm replacing that with this unit and I'm glad they have a more "traditional" handle option now. (The previous was a two-part push button that never fit the design of my original tank toilet) The porcelain was perfectly fine so it's nice to not have to replace it but the inner workings can be upgraded. This particular unit has a flow nozzle that refills the tank and it causes a jet of water that flushes out much of the sediment that collects in the tank. It's a great design. I feel it's louder than the previous unit but water flow is great, quick, and all works nicely. The low-flush option seems to have light touch and it took me about a week to figure that out so anyone who buys this unit might want to experiment with how the handle works after installation.

Easy to install, low flush won’t work without holding the Handel. The full flush works perfectly. Did all the adjustment on bleue tab and green tab, nothing will make small flush works unless holding 3 to 4 seconds.

This is definitely a user-friendly kit for the most part. The instructions aren't 100% but they aren't terrible either. As someone else recommended, there are better walkthroughs on YT that will have you going in no time and reduce any doubts you may have.In our case, we only installed the flush valve and kept the fill valve off to the side in case it is ever needed. The original fill valve is the same/similar style and works just fine with it. This also made installation much easier as we were up and going within just a few minutes. The zip ties do look a bit cheap, so you may want to use something a little more heavy-duty if you have some lying around. We used the one it came with though to see how well they do end up lasting (it's an easy fix if it fails). As others have pointed out when using the half-flush (eco flush, etc), it does seem that you have to hold it down 2-3 seconds for it to properly flush. This is unfortunate and is part of the reason we dropped a star. It's nice to have a proper toilet you can just press and walk away from. The full flush does work just fine though. Also, when using the half/eco flush, the bowl doesn't fill all the way like it does after a full flush. There is less water, but it still fills it up "enough" at least. It would be nice to have a proper fill though. This also has to do with why we dropped a star.Beyond that, it seems to be a fantastic adapter kit that makes it a lot easier than replacing the entire toilet (and a lot less). Perfect for so many looking to go with a dual flush without the hassle and costs of replacing the entire thing. If we find anything else that jumps out at us, we'll make sure to come back to update.

I have no idea what is the difference with the HYR270 aside from the flash switch.Very difficult to setup.I tried many times but there is always a leak since the rubber fit does not fit properly.I actually have to glue the rubber to the receiving hole. And made hude customize just to properly align and stabilize the device attaching to the tube.I glued it as well to make it steady.

I purchased two of these units. One installed fine and is working well. The other one had a continual leak. I contacted the manufacturer and was assured that they would send a replacement. Here I am 3 months and several reminders to them later, and nothing. Very disappointed in the customer service. Like I said, the units themselves are hit and miss. In my experience, 50% of them have problems.

Installed it today, March 2018, and it went in surprisingly easy. Works great as it only uses half a tank for the light flush. Will see how it lasts.[Update July 2020] Took a star off because the large valve that lets the water into the bowl at the bottom started to leak very slowly. Took it out completely and siliconed the top side of the valve and it stopped. I also added a bead of silicon around the gasket that sits on the toilet flapper valve ring but I don’t think that was the problem. I think the rubber valve material had started to stiffen slightly with age.

I've actually been through three of these in a matter of years. The first one was installed by someone other than myself and performed well for maybe two years. I don't remember what broke on it, but something gave and it the lever inside kept jamming, so it wouldn't flush at all without coaxing. For whatever reason, I didn't think it was a warning sign with the brand. I just assumed there was something off with the one I had and went ahead and purchased two more; one for each bathroom in my home.I'm now trying to remember back about two years, and I believe my initial intent was simply to replace the broken part on one, but when I got the new set, the design had changed (which I actually took as a reassuring sigh- perhaps they knew there was a problem and fixed whatever went wrong with mine), so I ended up replacing all the parts. I'm not a handyman at all, but with a little help from online videos, I got my first one up and running within an hour. The second one, since I knew what I was doing, seriously took maybe 15 minutes.Unfortunately, the one in my master bath broke within six months of use. I gave up and replaced it with standard fittings. About six months later, the one in my guest bath broke. I don't recall what happened with the master one anymore, but the guest bath one simply had a thing for disconnecting itself. Ergo, every few days, we'd have to pull off the tank cover and reconnect it. We limped along with it like this for maybe six months before one of the younger kids had an issue with it and then dropped the tank cover in the process of reconnecting the flushing system. The tank cover is not replaceable because the company no longer makes it. So, now if I want a functioning toilet with a cover that fits, I need to purchase a whole new one. (Yes, I know, there are universal covers, but have you seen the reviews on those?!?) The new flushing system, which I thought would save money in the long run, wound up being a rather expensive purchase after all. I've actually given up on water-saving flush systems altogether now. Three different kits from the same company went bad, all in different ways.
