missing parts. The log nuts for the cleat fasteners move towards the sole of the show not allowing the screws to engage.

As the miles click off on your bike computer as do the countless times you unclip your Speedplay style cleat, the 'bow tie' blades on both sides of the pedal become worn down to a knife-like edge. This wearing creates lateral rocking in your cleat and in time the pedal body depresses into the baseplate of the Speedplay cleat. More rocking, more pressing, more slop in the interface of your cleat to the pedal.In time you'll need to also replace the 'bow ties' on the pedals but for the interim, these baseplates will take out some of the unwanted slop between your cleat and the pedal.The cleat adapters are exact and installation is very easy. Be sure to use a Sharpie to mark the cleat screws' locations before removing the cleats.
