This stand is made for mounting onto a workbench but as you can see, a little adapting to your own desire might be the thing. This was the cheapest and so far has been just what I needed. I adapted this stand to fit my car bike rack by adding a home-made plate so I do my adjustments with the rack attached to my bike carrier. Modification took about an hour of metal cutting and welding, but I had the stand modified and used to adjust my bike without any issues in about an hour. I just got the stand today and have only used it once, but the build quality is great and well worth the money. Because my bike does not have single diameter tubing, I used the seat post for securing the bike as photos show. Not the greatest place to hold a bike but it works and is needed with wide-tubing bikes. Very good quality and workmanship. I'm happy.

It works ok.The horizontal arm is a little to short. When the bike is clamped at the seat post, the pedals hit the work table. So, I installed it on my saw horse, so the pedal goes around the saw horse instead of hitting it.The bike also rotates and hangs down. I don't want to crank down on the knobs incase the plastic handle cracks.Improvements are the horizontal arm should be longer to clear the bench when turning the pedals and the horizontal arm clamp should be more robust, so the bike doesn't just hang down.Other then that, the stand looks to be well made.

This is a very nice work stand, holds my bike very solid, we will see how it holds up, but I don’t foresee any issues. Great deal for the price.

As you can see by the photos, I have mounted this work stand to my heavy workbench. I was able to usethe screws provided.Other reviews mentioned that rotation can occur in both the horizontal member (clamp holding bike)and vertical telescoping member (attached to workbench). With the weight of a bicycle it is nearlyimpossible to hand tighten the clamps on the members so that they do not rotate. My suggestion is to determine several working positions that you use most frequently and drill a small (1/8 inch) hole throughthe vertical and horizontal members and insert a cotter pin or nail to limit movement.

This is a great bench stand for the money. You can screw it to your bench or clamp it like I do. Either way, it is very sturdy and easy to assemble. The only thing wrong is the knob that secures the horizontal piece. It is almost impossible to tighten it enough to keep the horizontal piece from turning. I replaced the knob with a 5/16"-18 cam clamp ($4.00) and everything is perfect. It would be nice if it came with a tool tray, but I found an aftermarket one and make it work.

I mounted this on my rolling work bench. So far, it's very sturdy. The top clamp part of the stand does swivel even when I tighten the clamp on the standing part of the post. However, when I had a bike in there, it didn't swivel. I haven't had to really crank hard on any parts yet. I hope it stays when I need to but overall, I'm happy with this stand. It doesn't take up a lot of room and if I need to move it to another location, that will be easy.
