But a closer look will reveal a modern push-button dial hidden behind the nostalgic rotary-style face. Adjustable earpiece volume and flash/redial make for the perfect blend of contemporary convenience and classic charm. When this phone rings, you won't be able to resist picking up.

Looks great out of the box, and was very easy to install. Looks great, but it is made of plastic and lacks vintage ‘feel’. The actual ‘ring’ is also vintage, which is a nice touch!Very happy overall with this phone and would buy it again.

The phone is adorable. Never worked when I got it. Fuzzy noise you can barely hear person speaking. To give the benefit of the doubt, life was hectic so I never reached out customer service. Just have it sitting there collecting dust now.

Purchased this for a red kitchen as it is very hard to find an old looking wall phone. I have done the kitchen in semi retro and this looks amazing! Colour is perfect and phone is easy to use and works great.

The first phone I ordered did not work. I could hear the caller, but the caller couldn't hear me. Also, while the Crosley phone was plugged into the jack, my cordless phones didn't ring. I called the Crosley company, and they were going to send me a replacement receiver, but when I told them about how my other phones were affected, they were stumped. I agree with them that it sounds weird and that there's no logical explanation as to why this phone would influence the function of my other phones. However, when I unplugged the Crosley, my cordless phones went back to working normally. Because of this weird issue, the Crosley people had me just return the phone to Amazon and buy another. In the meantime, the price of the phone went up, but Amazon honored the original price (thank you!), and I ordered another one.The second phone allowed me to both hear and be heard. My other phones work normally, but there is still some weird connection. Occasionally, a caller will tell me that they tried calling several times and it stopped ringing after three rings. Also, I can answer the phone with the cordless just fine, but when I hang up, the Crosley yelps with one mysterious "bing!". Doesn't seem to mean anything, but that's just an example of the strange connection between the Crosley and my other phones. If you've done any amount of looking, you'll know that finding a cool modern-yet-also-retro phone is next to impossible. You'll find this phone on all of the sites, so I guess no other company is filling this need. I have not experienced the buzzing other reviewers mentioned, and the phone itself looks great. The ring is a bit shrill, but you can turn it off, and I've really enjoyed using a corded phone again after all these years. Overall, I recommend it, but just watch for problems. Both Crosley and Amazon were very helpful to me.

Like many who live in older homes, I have an old AT&T wall plate in the kitchen that's not near an electrical outlet. The only way to cover it is with a corded phone. I got tired of the old, beige early 90's thing I had hanging there and searched for something cool that fit my decor, without being overly cutesy. The red phone is actually a nice dark cranberry color (my father tells me the color was all the rage circa 1959) and it provides a pretty punch of color to the wall. Unlike some reviewers, the sound on mine is perfectly clear, the bell tone (set it to low) sounds just like the rings of old, and while not quite as heavy as the phones I remember from childhood, it's a pretty solid piece. It's truly retro in that there are no frills (aside from redial and flash) such as backlighting or caller ID, but my modern living room phone's ring tones tell me who is calling. As far as function goes, this phone is for answering when I'm in the kitchen and calling the electric company when the power goes out. But it's very pretty, well priced, and sure to be a conversation piece.*Beware: Ignore the accessories Amazon associates with this. You cannot replace the cord with a longer one. It's molded to the phone.

This phone was most likely designed to be a decorative piece that could also be useful. I purchased it because my cordless phones never seem to make it to a charger. I have had an incredibly difficult time trying to find a decent phone that plugs into the wall. Immediately, I was impressed with my purchase. It seems to be of great quality construction, heavy (but not as heavy as the old kind I remember my parents having when I was a child), it looks great, and most importantly it has crystal clear sound. There is a place on the back of the phone where you can choose high or low volume and where you can choose to turn the ringer on or off. The ringer is definitely not a modern "ringtone". It is the old ringer style from years past. Some might find it annoying (but it can be turned off), but I love it. The cord is actually a nice length and it does not tangle like I remember cords of my childhood doing. True, there is no caller ID, but my tv has caller ID and most of the time, I answer the phone anyhow. I have caller ID elsewhere and use it to check missed calls mostly. If you are wanting this phone as a decorative piece or as a useable, dependable, wall phone, I think you will be pleased with your purchase.
