My edge was overheated and over ground. The edge was also super rough. I have the all terrain chopper and the sheaths are different. quality seems to be way lower on this one. No good, glad I can fix and mod this.

Die Machete ist im Großen und Ganzen schon in Ordnung, doch der Schliff ist absolut lieblos , mit einem groben Bandschleifpapier erfolgt, ich musste das Ding erst nachschleifen um die Machete wirklich scharf zu bekommen. ColdSteel hat eigentlich einen guten Ruf und man erwartet sich eine gute Qualität von ColdSteel, doch dieser Schliff war für mich eine Endtäuschung! Mein Fazit, um das Geld, bekommt man von anderen Herstellern, die besseren Macheten!

Sharp and handles well. Very flexible and not meant for thick or hard wood. Green weeds and mild brush only.

I got this to cut thin grassy stuff out on some land. It works pretty well for that, actually the flexibile blade does great on grass, better than a more rigid blade. But thi thing cannot handle anything heavier than grass.

Big strong piece of 1055 had to reprofile the edge to my standard (but i knew that going in)it came with a working edge and sheath is good..handle is comfortable and it will take down whatever you need to chop..spine is sharp and it's no show piece but it's a worker for sure..

Great machete. Gave one to my daughter who deer hunts with me and helps me prepare the area where we place our stand. I was concerned that my larger all-terrain chopper (outstanding) would be too heavy for her to swing all day so I got her this instead. It is a fine tool for brush clearing and the slightly smaller size doesn't wear her out after clearing for hours. It came very sharp and has a decent sheath like all of my cold steel machetes. Just be aware that this is smaller than the all-terrain chopper if you think you are getting that for a cheaper price. If you are a guy and can handle something heavier, I highly recommend the larger cold steel all terrain chopper. More heft and more reach for brush clearing and taking down saplings and small trees. The all-terrain chopper also has a double length two-handed handle as to where this has a single length handle. I have seen some sellers on Amazon whether maliciously or by accident advertise this as the all-terrain chopper so pay attention to the details as this is not one. But is still a great machete design.

By far the best machete I've ever owned. it's balance is somewhat odd however after a few swings with it and another for comparison, I found the unfamiliar weight distribution actually makes for stronger chops. This thing took a weekend long beating and surpassed my expectations. Definitely worth it.
