I normally select CMT bits. Because they are one of the best bits out there. This one however was not up to par. I tested in 2 different routers and found that the bit did not run true. The tip wags about 1/32” to 1/64” and causes significant vibration. I did a few cuts with moderate pressure against the bit and was to cut about 25” of the plywood edge. As soon as I reduced pressure toward the bit, the vibration returned. Tried a different bit, no vibration. I’m thinking this bit needs to be replaced with one that runs true.

I've been using this flush trim bit for a while now and it's simply outstanding. Cuts beautifully, no burning if I have the router speed set correctly. Cuts through hard woods like butter.

Use this to flush trim full size doors with factory edge plywood as the template. Wish they made a 1/2" version

The lower bushing comes loose and I have to keep tightening it. Messed up one of my cuts due to that happening.

Bit is top notch. Maple was shaved off like grated cheese. Ultra sharp. Smooth operations and balanced at full speed. No vibrations like cheaper bits of this size. Extremely happy with this product. Will buy again.

Last week I asked the question on a guitar builders page about an Infinity bit and if anyone knew of a Designer Imposter®️ version. Some really nice Canadian fellow turned me onto the CMT Xtreme but for a fraction of the cost. I almost disqualified it because of the lame Mt Dew type name, but it's from Italy and Ferraris and Sophia Loren are both pretty neat, so I pulled the trigger. It didn't not disappoint. Shaped 2 necks with it and no tear out and they're as smooth as Sophia Loren (except for her armpits). Great bit and I got it from our evil overlord with smiling boxes. Highly recommend.
