One of the flutes broke off during the first use. Luckily it was pointing away from me at the time it happened.

These router bits are a good quality, sturdy item - that is standing up really well for the several projects I have used them with so far. The construction is great quality with no defects and fits my Ryobi routers very well. The bits provide for good cuts and the material is sturdy and hold sup against hard woods and soft both.

I’ve been using Amana Tool bits for may last few builds, but these have given me cleaner results with little to no burning marks or tearout. It would almost be worth it to buy a new set for every 2 projects, but they may last much longer.

A real trick that professional use is making patterns of not straight or radial shapes, and then using router bits with guide bearings to "trace" them. This got even more appealing to me about 20 years ago, when I got my shop's first laser cutter. There are two basic styles of these bits—with the bearings either at the top of the cutters, or the bottoms (like these have). I find these typically easier to use—you have the pattern, or template, on top (I've always used a good double stick tape for this) and can see just what you're doing. These bits came ready to use. They appear well balanced, and run smoothly. While I don't have the ability to test the specific alloy used on the cutting edges, they do appear to be a good grade of carbide. I'm used to paying this much for a single bit like these—more, if I go with a top tier company—I can't say these are identical, but they are very serviceable. I'd recommend though that if you're routing a denser material, for the longer bits, a 1/2 inch shaft would be better.
