This router bit is everything you would expect from a premium router bit. It is sharp, and stays sharp. It cuts hardwood, sheet goods, and some composites equally well, at leaves a very nice finish. The bottom bearing matches the cutter unlike some less expensive router bits, so your pieces will be flush when you finish. We buy this bit over and over for each of the guys in the shop because it lasts and the price point is easy on the budget. This is great router bit at this price point, and you could easily spend more and not get this quality. The CMT brand is recognized almost everywhere as a premium tool maker.

I have used CMT cutters for awhile. This cutter may have been just defective but the cutter only lasted approximately three small parts before the bearing blew right off it. I place a new bearing on it and the cutting edge was done. I used this on 3/4 pine.

Update: Reached out to CMT, asking if quality has changed, or if there might be an issue with counterfeit bits. They said "We don't deal with 3rd party sellers, so return it." .... Looks like my days of buying CMT is over. And this is NOT the quality I remember.I used to put them alongside Freud, and Whiteside, but this bit is on par with a Yonico or Kowood.Normally, I use spiral flush trim bit, but I had seen all my spiral buts out for my "May Shapening" and figured I should try CMT since it had been a while since I've used one of their smaller bits.I'm extremely disappointed with it.The box was sealed, but when I removed the bit, the shaft had strange scratches on it. But the bit was obviously new. So I thought it was no big deal, and loaded it up.Unfortunately, the bit wasn't sharp out of the box either. The "New Bit" edge was blahh. It ended up burning the 3/8" BB like crazy. And at one point, it even jumped a bit.I then tried it on a softer Sande pine plywood i use for making jigs (from the orange big box store), and it even burnt that in several spots. All in all, I'd say this m8ght be a one off... but that's all it takes for me to avoid buying CMT bit again.(FYI: I use their saw blades, and larger profile bits a lot. They are great. But they're a bit older. This almost felt like it could be a knock off.)

I purchased and used this bit for a small project - and it got the job done.If you are going to be using this bit more than a few times I would suggest spending the money and getting a premium brand bit. With that being said it worked perfectly for my application and and if it breaks I already got my money's worth out of it.

Been using this to edge up veneering. I put it in a cheap Harbor Freight edge router and it works great. The major issues I've ran into is how fast the contact cement gums up the blade forcing me to clean up after every edging (I should be cleaning it more often but I'm impatient.). It comes apart easy, cleaning is easy enough and the bearing hasn't gummed up on me yet.I had bought a Diablo 1" edger from HD and that chipped twice within the first 5 uses and costs $10 more than this, so no more diablo bits from HD.

I laminated two sheets of 4x8' of 3/4" plywood together, and of course both sheets were not 100% same size. So I wanted to use a flush trim bit to even out and square to one of the sheets.A search on Amazon turned this up so I purchased it and took a chance. I used it with my DeWalt router.Overall it worked really well. Cut the wood like butter. However, the top part of the wood it wouldn't cleanly cut and left small burs the whole length of the side routed. I tried different speeds, and different types of wood, and all had same effect. Perhaps the blades weren't evenly sharp. It was quickly cleaned up with a pass or two of sandpaper. So not a deal breaker. For my use it worked just fine. If I was a professional woodworker, and not a weekend warrior, I'd probably want better quality. But for the one time use like mine, it was great.
