Description says it is smokeless and it does a very good job. Great alternative to barbequeing in a Canadian winter. Rack is a little hard to clean. My husband made a small wooden scraper, similar to the ones sold in stores for outside bbq’s and it seems to work quite well.

Very nice product. Very well made. Cast iron grid is very heavy. Relatively easy to clean. My two problems are the amount of smoke it makes (I do not have an overhead exhaust fan) but on the other hand it would be nice to have it heat to a higher temperature for searing. I've made steaks, pork chops, hamburgers and all were excellent tasting, moist and not over-done.

I am entirely disappointed with this product.First, It was shipped with no exterior packaging. It was merely shipped in the product packaging. The package was damaged upon arrival. The box was partially open and the was a large gash in the side of the box. Fortunately, the item was not damaged.I have read most of the previous reviews and thought that it was worth buying in spite of some shortcomings.This is not really a "grill". It is a glorified electric skillet. The heating elements are arranged in such a way that none of the food that you are trying to "grill" is actually exposed to radiant heat. Heat from the elements is merely conducted up through the cast iron surface. The hotspots over the heating element produce the "grill marks". I suppose this is what makes it supposedly smokeless because nothing drips onto the heating elements. But this is not really true. There is still a significant amount of smoke. For my first experience, I tried to make it simple. I placed it on the highest setting and waited at least twenty minutes so that it would be hot enough to sear meat. I tried grilling a 1/2 inch steak that I had already allowed to come to room temperature. It cooked very unevenly. Parts in direct contact with the grates on the grill cooked well. However, the other parts did not. This item can definitely not sear anything. Very disappointed. Not worth the money. I have already relegated this item to a closet in my garage.

Works fine but you have to alter your. cooking method takes longer thinner cut work best .

I wasn't too sure whether or not this indoor grill would get hot enough or not, well it does and does it quite easily. Clean up is a breeze, soak the grill plate in hot water, quick scrub and your'e done, Highly recommend this to anyone that can't have a BBQ in their backyard. Love it!

I turn it up to max heat setting and wait almost 20 mins if not longer to ensure its screaming hot. It just doesn't give my steaks and thick pork chops the hard sear I was hoping for. I still use it on occasion though.
