It used to be that you had to "make something" ... from relay fired electrics, to RC circuits... but these incorporate everything you need into a simple little diode.It is bright, it is easy to install, and they blink on command.I use them in all my vehicles with or without an alarm system. They are very visible in the day and 10x that at night.UPDATE:After about a month, the first one has stopped blinking.They give you several in the bag... I'll try another one. But this isn't as good as I had originally thought. Hence the update.

Used in Halloween decorations with a 12v battery and solar panel. Works great with enough light to be seen from a distance.

We’ll made and all work. Very bright and good red color. Only gave 4 stars because they blink pretty fast. Specs say 1 1/2 sec blink rate, but they are much faster. Blink about twice that fast. Voltage applied does not affect the blink rate.
