I am neutral regarding this product. I found the many moving parts and instructions confusing. Consequently, I did not use the product. That is not to say, someone familiar with this tool will find it a good quality tool and helpful.

I have had this for a while now but it wasn't until just recently that I had a need to use it to try and sharpen my chainsaw chain. The tool itself seems well made and it comes with everything you need including a belt pouch to store the jig kit in which could be very handy for some. The only parts that didn't seem like they would last long is the actual grinding tips which seem to wear out fairly quickly in my case.To be honest, even though this kit comes with a lot and the tool is well made, it just didn't work for me nor did it seem any faster than using a regular chain file. If anything I think a chain file is a bit faster and with better results. At least for me.Aside from the quick wear of the grinding bits, they come in a few different unmarked sizes which left me guessing at which size to use. There are instructions for using the tool but they make no mention of how to choose the proper bit size. Once I guessed at the proper grind bit size I set the tool up on the chainsaw bar and found something I didn't really care for. The small hold-down screws that tighten onto the bar have no protection. This leaves hole marks and indentations on the chainsaws bar and damages the end of the threads of the tool. I also found the grind itself to not leave as good of a finish as file would. For now I think I will stick with a chain file. I don't want to mar my chainsaw bar up just by installing the tool nor do I want to have to keep buying the grinding bits when a good file will last practically forever and give better results in my opinion. I only gave it four stars as a rating because it does work as advertised and seems well made other than the grinding bits.
