Wow, this little pad is a lifesaver! I'm seriously impressed with it. I use it all the time now – it's become my go-to surface for soldering and torch work. The fireproof and insulated base is perfect. I've even used it as a heat shield when I'm doing some grinding, and it works like a charm. The size is great, it's lightweight, and the fact that you can easily cut and shape it is super useful. I've used it for everything from fixing old appliances to building projects that need heat-resistant parts.Honestly, the only downsides are that it can crack if you bend it too much, and it does shed a bit of dust. But it arrived in perfect condition, really well packaged, so no complaints there. The quality seems top-notch, just as good as the more expensive ceramic insulation I've used in the past.Price-wise, it's not the cheapest, but it's definitely reasonable. All in all, it's a great value, especially when you compare it to those massive, pricey rolls of ceramic insulation.

I received this well packaged and in good condition. It is expensive for the size but seems to work well. I didn't cut it. I bought it to use with my wall mount ethanol fireplace. I had a mantle made and used this to put between the cabinet and the back of the fireplace. It works well for my purpose. I would recommend it.

This does seem a bit pricey for the size, but this ceramic insulation works very well. It does shed a bit after handling - and can crack if bent too much. But overall it does a great job at insulation. We’re building a small kiln, and this came in very handy.

This is exactly as described and works well. The reason for the missing star is the price... which it is unreasonably high on all ceramic insulation products, it seems.

I have not used this yet, but it arrived quickly and was well packaged, to withstand shipping with clean edges and corners. It seems well made, and it is the perfect size to serve my intended purpose. I am a ceramics / glass artist and will be putting this to use in my kiln. The price of this item is comparable to products I have purchased in the past from distributors, so I will keep this in mind in the future.

The dust on this is very dangerous, so make sure you are using proper safety equipment. This is also REALLY expensive, at $43 for 2 square feet, 1 inch thick. But it works--although I can't verify its ability to withstand 2300 degrees.
