My humble boast: I am an 83 year old woman with no handy skills and I put this together myself. I tried to get a handyman to do it but the job seemed so simple two of them declined and the one who was suppose to come sometime today didn't show up. I used pillows and kitchen chairs to hold the pieces in place and fortunately the holes lined up nicely. I put a couch seat cover on it since the very light color didn't fit in with my decor. The finish is rough. It looks okay but it wasn't sanded and stained into a smooth finish which I don't like. I used the idea from another review and tied a piece of sponge to my hammer for a makeshift mallet. I was glad I could get it together taking me several hours because I had to rest in between steps. My plan is to lay on this to watch TV or to use it as a guest bed since my place is small. It's much more practical than a big overstuffed couch. I do appreciate all the reviews which encouraged me to buy it and empowered me to assemble it myself which is why I'm writing this one.

I plan to use this daybed for occasional night time sleeping on my covered porch as well as porch seating. It is too deep for comfortable seating - will have to add fat throw pillows. It's slightly wider than a cot mattress so my fitted cot sheets are too tight. I think it will be comfortable for sleeping.Assembly: I was able to assemble the daybed by myself although it would have probably been easier with two people. It took me about 1 1/2 hours to get it almost assembled but then I had trouble with the second set of legs getting all the tenons to fit. Took a break and when I came back I got it together and the mattress cover on in about another 1/2 hour. The instructions were very clear and the pieces fit well.

It was not difficult to assemble, but would have been easier with two people. There were two dents in frame but I could not wait for replacement. It did not affect stability. Cushion is a bit stiff, but that should soften as we use it.It’s a great value for price. I’m sure we will get many years of use.
Awful, broken, seemed to have gotten too hot.

For paying over $600 for this item I expected it to be well made. The instructions were easy to follow but overall the construction is cheap and very few screws were used to put it together. This might be an okay piece if you don’t plan on using it every day. I’m afraid of the wood cracking and breaking while I sit on it. Would not recommend!

I have had it for quite awhile now . Used on porch at one point had to leave exposed to elements ( Texas heat rain) it held up very well! It is very pretty more comfortable than porch benches and much more beautiful with pillows on .
